This was sent home today from the school guidance counselor (these are apparantly song lyrics). I imagine I’ll be complaining a lot over the next 13 years…![]()
I PLEDGE ALLEGIANCE
Joe Crone
I PLEDGE ALLEGIANCE TO MY FAMILY.
I PLEDGE ALLEGIANCE TO MY SCHOOL.
I PLEDGE ALLEGIANCE TO MY COMMUNITY.
I PLEDGE ALLEGIANCE TO THE WORLD….TO THE WORLD.
——
I promise I will strive to be the best that I can beI’ll take a look inside and discover all my abilities
(chorus)
To find my path in life and to walk it strong and true
To try to do what’s right is what I have to offer you.
(chorus)
To love our mother earth and to serve humanity
To open up my heart and to love my human family.
You know, in the grand scheme of things, there’s nothing wrong with this. But, as my husband put it, “There’s a line missing”.
PTO meeting is in 10 days. I WILL be asking to be certain that the *real* pledge is being said. My son says they say it — and since he already knows the real Pledge, I am hoping he is right and not just remembering that they said it in daycare.

This is a perfect example of why I pulled both my girls out of the public school system this year. They’ll be going to a private Christian school. I work to pay tuition now, but I know it will be well worth it. It’s horrible, the changes they’ve made to the “system” since we were kids.

You know this has just bugged the hell out of me since you posted it and makes me mad! Please make sure and let us know what happens at the PTA meeting.

We did home schooling for years. That pledge wasn’t in our curriculum. If that’s real, I’m going to throw up.
