AL Rabies Nazi
The State of Alabama has some flunky that drives around in their “assigned” locations and checks up on us stupid rednecks to see if we have taken our pets to the vet and had them vacicnated against rabies.
They never show up when you are home to present your certificate, no couldn’t do that. They come around at the worse time of the day, ie: noon, when no one is home and leave their little “violation” warnings taped to doors, or rolled up and shoved in door hinges.
Today I got “tagged” by the Rabies Nazi.
What really got under my skin was the “ticket” says the person (whose signature of course is not legible to maybe anyone but a doctor) ”observed” 2 dogs … then elaborated that they “heard 2 dogs barking when knocking on door.” Well you idiot — I know where you got the “2 dogs” from — from our notice to fire personnel on the door indicating there are 2 dogs in the house to be rescued.
After we lost Otis over Thanksgiving, I did scratch out the 2 and replaced it with 1, but it appears that the sun has faded that ink out leaving the 2 there. So not only am I reminded that we lost Otis, I have to spend my time “proving” there is only 1 dog in residence now.
I want to send them the damn bill we got from that night — and shove it up there backsides. But, I will be nice in the letter I write them indicating their Rabies Nazi needs a) a hearing check, and b) his superman see through walls eyes need a check up if Bubba blurred into “2 dogs” upon observation.
Pissed? Just a bit!

This is an old story in these parts. Yes, there is (of course) a good reason to assure that pets are vaccinated but the way it is done in these parts is more a means to generate revenue.
It’s not right.
