All Is Okay
Just in case you all hear this on Fox News, or your favorite news outlet, I talked to the SGM. They heard the explosion and saw the smoke, but everyone with him are okay – including him.
From the BBC News:
Category : Afghanistan, Military, News | Tags :By Alastair Leithead in Afghanistan There has been a suicide car bomb attack close to an American base in Kabul, the first of its kind in the Afghan capital this year. Five people – including a young child – are believed killed and a number of civilians injured. The bomber detonated his explosives around 400m from the American base at 1130 local time (0700GMT).
A coalition convoy was passing nearby and it is thought the explosives may have gone off prematurely.
Among those killed was a shopkeeper, a passing driver and the child. There were other civilians injured in the attack.
It is the first time this year there has a been a suicide bomb in Kabul, although there have been roadside bombs and occasional rocket attacks on the city.
Much of the violence has been taking place in the south of the country where thousands of international troops are being deployed.

Hearing about each attack now makes me wait for a phone call that I hope doesn’t come… my brother is overseas and not in a cushy safe job. His first week there he knew what he would be in for when they came upon an ‘accident’ (cleverly staged) where the bodies had been boobie trapped with bombs inside the torso’s and heads for our soldiers to ‘find’. He won’t be home for about 19 more months so it’s going to take a lot of good luck and prayers.
