Breastfeeding For 3 Months Helps Prevent Diabetes In Children

A study by the Italian Association of Diabetes Doctors (AMD) revealed the number of registered cases of type 2 diabetes is increasing by 7-10% a year . According to the research, based on data for 121,000 patients gathered at 86 diabetes centres, type 1 diabetes is climbing at a slower rate, 1% per annum.

Research commissioned by the World Health Organization (WHO) shows that heart disease, diabetes and cancer are on the rise in Africa, and they are just as pressing as the more-publicized epidemics of HIV/AIDS, tuberculosis and malaria.
Diabetes raises early death risk
Younger people with Type 2 diabetes are three times more likely to die early than those of the same age without the disease, a study suggests. A study of 264,000 patients in the journal of Diabetic Medicine found those with the disease were twice as likely to die early than those without.
