Jo’s Cafe

For many people, this morning was rudely disrupted by the fact the front door was askew and windows broken on Jo’s Café.   Well how do think I felt? When I left the place last night, all was locked up tight as a drum with the morning’s specials set up to be on the counter first thing?

Well panic was just not in the cards for me this morning.  I’d slept too well and just wasn’t going to even bother calling in the police.  I hopped on over to a couple other sites who rent space from the same company I do, but all was okay at their spots.  No smashed windows, no broken doors, or weird errcode messages spray painted on the walls.  Even the flower pots were blooming!! Horrors!

I immediately contacted the after hours number of the rental agency and filed an Emergency, flashing red, report!!  Then I fixed up what I could with additional information from the support folks at the firehouse called Wordpress.org and went off to work.

I kept checking my report, but wasn’t getting a response – just a nasty busy signal throughout the day.   Finally, I added to my report that I was going to have to move lock, stock and barrel if something wasn’t done, or a status update given, by the time I returned in the evening.

Well, that got ‘em people in gear and low and behold, I got a response at 12:13 pm my time.

The database server is currently being worked on and we anticipate it being back up shortly - we noticed the problem early this morning and began working on it to get it back up and running again. Tracking down the problem has been a very timely process and we apologize for the inconvenience.

When returning from my lunch hour, I found an e-mail from Trelania stating the Café had been repaired, but the door still looked “off.”  I blew on over there and sure enough it was all jammed up, but the lights were on and everything else was in place.  I few minor adjustments with a screw driver and the door slammed shut and locked.

Sorry for the inconvenience and thank-you for the one e-mail I got asking what was going on!!!
