Illegal Alien Questions
Protests everywhere this weekend, and more to come I hear.
All in support of people who cross our borders illegally. Imagine how much good could have been done by those people if they’d gone enmass to say the coast of Mississippi and helped clean up for the legal citizens who were victims of hurricanes!
My question is:
Why aren’t these people protesting in Mexico, in front of Fox’s mansion, for better conditions for the Mexican people so they won’t feel they have to break the law for a better life?
Could it be the Mexican prisons?
I have a problem with these people demanding we allow these illegals to remain in this country. Why are they so concerned? If it’s a human rights issue, like a lot of them claim, then I go back to my question above. Why not protest against Fox and his adminstration ilk for the way they run the country so badly people flee it?
Let’s think about this logically. These “amercians”, interspersed with illegals, protested against a law to help protect our borders. So in reality, they protested for breaking the law.
Makes your head hurt doesn’t it?

It sure does. There really does have to be a compromise solution out there — one that takes into account our own sloppy enforcement of the laws and our own hideous application process for visas/etc (in other words, FIX THAT TOO), as well as dealing with those who are crossing our border for reasons other than a chance to improve their lives.
This country was built on those who came here to work hard and prosper. We shouldn’t be seeing these people enter illegally. There should be a legal way for them to enter that doesn’t take years and miles of paperwork. Once that’s fixed, there will be no question of what to do with those that cross illegally.
I also wish SOMEONE would remember that there’s another border….

Found your site on a random search on this topic.
I have found this topic interesting since my personal life has recently been affected by it.
I had been dating a man from latino decent for about 6 months before he finally came out with the truth that he was illegal. I broke up with him right away. It was the last straw because it proved to me his continuous dishonesty. (I am not generalizing all latinos as dishonest. His actions will remain his own.) 2 months later, I found out that I was pregnant. When I told him, he immediately wanted to get married. When I denied this idea, he walked away from the situation. Later, he admitted that he had been trying to get me pregnant because he thought that would get me to marry him then making it easier for him to recieve a green card. I don’t see how his action has helped our country at all. Now, i am a single mother that will have to raise a child with no relationship with the father. I have had to drop out of school for the time being and have had a very difficult time finding a decent job.
I completely take responsibility for my half of the actions, though, I was under the impression that I was taking the best procautions to avoid such a situation. But someone schemeing at such a deep level is hard to catch. I got played.
I have found it very hard to find ways to pursue child support from him since he is not of legal status. I am also scared of taking drasic measures of calling athorities. I am not sure what this man is capable of since everything about him turn out to be a lie.
Now, my point in posting this is to support that there is a darkside to the situation. He openly shared stories with me about many friends of his that have married american women simply to get status, and would then plan to divorce them. My story is not even as horrendous as others I have heard. I can find empaty for some situations of families coming over here to escape extremes such as the mexican mob and other similar groups, for they are possibly in more control then parts of the government, but the man in my story has no reason to be here. He only wants to make more money. He has single handedly proved to be a damper not only on a personal level, but to the economy. I have had to recieve much government assistance for heath care to ensure a healthy pregnancy. He claims that mexicans do the jobs that americans won’t do (I have never agreed with that statement.)But they damage our economy equally, if not more. I read a statistic that illegal immigrants caused California an estimated 18 million dollars last year. That is amazing.
I will also clarify that the issue is not limited to latinos. There is a problem with many countries.
The bottom line in my life is, this problem is so out of control at the fault of both sides of the fence. The only thing that we can do as individuals, as far as I can see it, is watch and act accordingly using good ethics. To strive for truthfullness in a world that runs on contention and strife. To work as best we can to be pillars of light and not barrers or darkness. To be an inspiration to others without being a crutch.
thank you for your post on this site. it was insightfull.
