A pretty, blonde haired, blue eyed Florida teacher today got no jail time for molesting a student. Yet, we have a teacher in Georgia who not only molestered a student, got knocked up by him and married him; and they have put her in jail.What does this say to you and me? Molest your students in Florida, but god help you if you try it in Georgia.
Really folks, this just is just way too much to take anymore.
Sure, the mother of the boy didn’t want him to testify, but why would it be necessary? They tape testimony every day in this country.
Couldn’t testimony been given in Judge’s chambers? Yes, the accused is supposed to face their accuser, but in this case, provisions could have been made to get the oral testimony from the victim and put this bitch in jail where she needs to be.
But then again, she DID confess … so why would he have to testify anyway?
Former teacher won’t face sex crime trial
A former Florida teacher who pleaded guilty to having sex with a 14-year-old boy will not have to stand trial on additional charges because prosecutors dropped those charges on Tuesday.
Debra LaFave pleaded guilty in November in Tampa to committing lewd and lascivious battery on a student who attended the middle school where she taught in Florida’s Hillsborough County.
Under the plea agreement reached with the Hillsborough prosecutors, LaFave, 25, was sentenced to three years of house arrest and seven years probation.
No mention in the article either about her registering her as a sex-offender.
Odd.

Prosecutor blew it because she is a good-looking blonde. Simple as that. Judge could not in good conscience accept the plea bargain, so the prosecutor rolled

Oh I know. Macstansbury posted something, which I’m sure he thought was cute, at my place but I did let him have free reign.
The stupid pretty blonde is a criminal and should go to prison and when released should have to register as a pedophile. Period.

If it had been a male teacher that molested a 14-year-old girl, the judge would have been thrown in jail and they would have tossed the key.
What is even more outrageous is the little press conference she held as she skated out of the courtroom yesterday. She blamed the little affair with her student on bipolar disorder. How convenient. Society is supposed to just forgive her actions because she was bipolar. Once again, the perp becomes the victim. Don’t we all feel sorry for Debra LaFave?
Is there a legal term for “hot white chic justice”, plainly different from the rules for the rest of us?

eh, she’s attractive, sort of, with the right lighting and make up.
Still, the double standard is horrendous.
