I just found out that today is “Pi Day”, celebrating the mathematical constant which describes the ratio of the circumference of a circle to its diameter.
Okay, okay….it’s a geek thing. Most of you wouldn’t understand….
When I graduated from college, it was a tradition at the ceremony for everyone from a particular major to put something on their caps so that they could be picked out (even though I graduated from a pretty small university, there were still hundreds of graduates in a sea of blue caps & gowns). I majored in mathematics, and we chose…Pi, of course. Each of us got one of the numbers on our cap. It was interesting trying to guess based on how we were lined up how we would be seated…if we messed it up, the number wouldn’t be right, and that would be downright embarassing — for us anyway, no one else probably would know the difference. As I recall we did pretty well….

I only understand in that I know you’re a math geek
