Jack

Gas everywhere — what to do?

(Shove Kim out the door? Works for me!)

The gas is flying through CTU. An announcement goes out about the contamination. Three rooms are sealed. Oh rats, Lynn is in one. Curtis is enroute. The Chemical Response Team is 30 minutes out. Jack talks to Chloe – she can’t go back to work. Berry interrupts. He’s a clinical psychologist, he can help Chloe. Okay, wait a minute. How many psychologist run around saying “clinical psychologist”, why didn’t he just say, “I’m a psychologist,” or “professional”? Something’s wrong with Berry; but then he’s with Kim, who cares right?

Lynn confesses his ills to a guard. The guard admonishes him for not reporting his key card being stolen. “So, we all are going to die because you were embarrassed?” Good one Guard!

Tony is up out of bed, he can’t just sit there while CTU is down. Jack calls medical to check on Henderson. Tony finds out Henderson is in medical and knocks out the doctor. Tony knows Henderson is responsible for Michelle’s death and the gas. Audrey gets audio to medical – Tony is going to kill Henderson. The guard tries to stop him. Tony talks to Henderson. They get the audio up and Jack talks Tony down and tells Agent Burk to continue with the interrogation of Henderson with the medications. Tony watches.

Logan and the VP are being briefed on the situation on CTU. 40% gone. The VP wants to know if CTU can protect the city? The lady he’s talking to is going to take a CRT in there and take over. The VP wants to impose martial law now. Logan says no. Actually Logan is showing some backbone! The VP keeps at him about it. If we clear the streets with everyone but the military the terrorist won’t have targets. We have to stop them.

The terrorists know about CTU being down. They are going to move to a new target and release ALL the nerve gas.

Jack wants to know if Chloe can go back to work. She’s hesitating – still in shock. Berry tells Jack he’s making things work. What an ass Berry is!

There is a problem. The nerve gas is mixed with a corrosive agent and breaking down the seals to the safe zones. 15 minutes, 20 at the most through the seals.

Mike on the phone with the VP. Martha looks on. The VP is going to help the President make a statement. Hal (The VP) is eager to help. Anything he can do to bring the president down so he can take over. Mike implores Martha to help Charles. Martha has power that constitutional rank doesn’t have.

Bill confirms there is a corrosive agent in the gas. The CRT won’t make it. We need to find a way to flush the contaminated areas. Jack is worried about Kim. Of damn course – just shove her out the door Jack PLEASE! Chloe is going to try and use the air conditioning system to flush the air ways. Something in the computer is blocking her from doing it. Jack is going to go through a safe area, holding his breath through a contaminated area, to the computer room. Seals are 80% gone. 20 minutes. Jack goes through the wall.

Jack is crawling through the underbelly of CTU to the computer room. He ends up in some type of janitor’s closet and tapes the door shut he just came in through. He takes a deep breath and goes in the hallway. Why is walking so slowly? Move Jack!! He cuts through another wall and finds pipes.

Seal corrosion at 86%. Kim smarts off to Chloe and Berry tries to calm everyone down.

Jack goes back to the safe room. Chloe says the pipes are really a security grate. It wasn’t on the plans. They patch Jack into where Lynn is. They tell Lynn where the computer room is, close to where he is. Lynn will have to die to do this; him and the guard. Lynn says there isn’t a choice. The guard asks Jack if he’s lying. Jack tells him it’s not an easy thing to ask them to do. Lynn tells the guard they have to do it – yes they will die, but if they don’t then so will everyone else in CTU. Jack and Chloe tell Lynn what he has to do.

Jack heads back to the conference room. Kim apologizes to Chloe. She wants to know if Chloe had contact with her dad while he was gone. She did pass on information about Kim to her dad.

Jack gets back to the conference room.

The guard calls his family and says good-bye. Lynn looks on. He tells Chloe they are going in and she thanks him for doing it. Lynn moves out. Lynn gets to the computer and the system restored. Chloe starts the ventilation. Lynn gets back to the room with the guard. Jack tells them what they did worked, that he’ll personally tell their families and thanks them. The guard dies first, then Lynn removes his hand from his mouth and goes shortly after. The people in the conference room hear him struggling for air and Bill watches on the video.

The agent in medical is still working on Henderson. Tony tells him he’s wasting time. Jack asks what he’s gotten from him – nothing. Jack doesn’t think Henderson will break; Chloe has to keep working on his computer. Jack wants Kim to go to medical to get checked out; but she wants to leave. She doesn’t want to be around him – because every time she’s around him, something horrible happens and people die. Audrey tries to comfort Jack.

Mike and Martha go over the president’s statement with Logan in the room. They are concerned about the martial law statement. CTU is shut down, we have to do something. Do you guys have any better ideas? Martha asks Mike to leave them alone. “If you feel that martial law is your only option, I will support you. But I will not stand by and watch Hal Gardner use you to promote his own agenda. He’s done it before.” Logan is at the point of tears – he doesn’t know what to do.

The terrorists are in position. They need the map of the building. The terrorist calls some female who just left someone’s bed. He wants he specs of the building. She said it will take time. She climbs back into bed with the guy (he must have the specs you think?)

Karen Haze from Homeland Security – needs a body count. She’s on her way. Bill is stunned. She’s going to take over. They are going to replace some people when they get there, they are going to remove Bill and Karen is going to take over. CTU is no longer a working agency, the building it ours.

The air is clean, Jack says good-bye to Kim. (I hope she’s really gone) Berry thanks Jack for saving their lives. Jack tells him to take Kim outside of the City and not let anyone stop them. They leave. (Yeah!)

Back in medical Tony looks on. Jack calls medical. Tony is going to take Henderson out. “It won’t bring Michelle back.” “It will make me feel better.” “No it won’t.” Tony knocks out the agent and gets a syringe full of something from the case. He gets ready to jab it in his heart, but pauses. Henderson wakes up and stabs Tony with the syringe. Oh shit! Oh damn Henderson has a gun now. Jack gets in the room and finds Tony on the floor. “I couldn’t do it.” He gets Tony up and yells for help. He tells Tony to hang on, but Tony dies in his arms.

  1. I can NOT believe they killed off Tony! Is there any regular that’s going to make it through this season?

  2. Jack, Chloe and Kim (gag) — we can loose Kim thank you very much!
