Reuters Bias on Display
I just had to comment on this story put out by Reuters and comment on a couple of sections:
BUSH RETURNS TO NEW ORLEANS
WACO, Texas (Reuters) – President George W. Bush returns to hurricane-ravaged New Orleans on Wednesday seeking to fend off the latest fallout from a political storm that has battered his popularity and shows no sign of blowing over.
Um, really? Did his press secretary state that? “Yes, the president is there to fend off fallout”. Maybe he went there to check on the status of the recovery??? It is, according to the next paragraph of this story, his 10th visit to the region…
“It’s a shame to call this America,” said Briscoe Brazella as he pulled waterlogged belongings from his home in the city’s Lower Ninth Ward. “If this was America as God intended … every home here would just about be rebuilt by now.”
You, sir, are living in a very large FANTASY WORLD. I just had a house built, and it took six months all by itself, on clear land with no significant issues. I don’t even know how long the planning took before the house was started, but add that on and it’s probably a lot longer. You really think an entire city can undergo damage assessment, planning, approval, and rebuilding in six months?
Bush has faced new criticism over a video showing officials warning him the day before Katrina hit that levees meant to protect New Orleans from flooding could fail. Critics said it made it hard to accept the White House’s insistence that it was surprised by the storm’s intensity.
Thank you for your mild attempt to soften this, but hasn’t it already been shown (and a story retracted by AP) that Bush was told the levees could overtop, not fail?
Anything to turn the story they way they want people to see it…..

And what is sad is that there are people in those areas that never worked a day in their life, lived off the government tit, and now want unemployment. This microwave world doesn’t build houses overnight. This is not the government, nor Bush’s fault, it’s their fault for living in a fantasy world of Beam Me up NOW Scotty — and “Have it your way” at Burger King.
