I have had enough of American Idol and all it stands for.

Humilation

Abuse

Would someone please explain to me why humiliation and abuse of another human is entertainment?

Maybe it’s a lot like a vehicle accident — rubberneckers are always having to slow down and stare at the carnage.

These people that put themselves in the path of Simon the Ass are asking for it really. By now we all know what happens to those that stand up there and do their very best, only to be humiliated and abused verbally by someone making more money than God to do just that.

I won’t link to their website. I personally am so sick of hearing about this show, I mute every commercial and turn OFF Fox News when they talk about it.

What has happened to the winners?

Not much from what I’ve found out.

Oh - and btw, if you have a friend, relative, loved one that is planning to stand up there on national television and get abused and humiliated by Simon the Ass, do us and them a favor — TELL THEM NOW THEY CAN’T CARRY A TUNE IN A BUCKET!!

Maybe if all the really bad singers would stop showing up, popularity for this show would drop and it would fade into TV Land.

I can only pray and hope.

  1. What happened to the winners?

Season 1 — Kelly Clarkson is a rising star in the music industry, and just beat Paul McCartney (among others) for a Grammy.

Season 2 — Yeah, Ruben Studdard flopped, but #2 finisher Clay Aiken is a hot commodity, and fellow AI contestant Josh Gracin (the Marine) is now making waves on the country charts.

Season 3 — Fantasia is 9from what i am told) a moderately successful artist on the Urban/R&B (or whatever they call it these days) scene.

Season 4 — Carrie underwood is already doing well on the country charts, with a hit called “Jesus Take The Wheel”.

So while I agree with every criticism of the show and its abuse heaped upon good people (many of whom are looking for their 15 minutes and are more than willing to make fools of themselves to get it), I don’t think it is fair to imply that the winners have not succeeded. My only problem is that the best have not always won.

  2. I agree witcha Jo bout the psychological aspects but seems it panders to the level of rudeness in the overall culture.
But Rhymes with right..is right…there have been “success’ stories ..if thats how u gauge success that is.
so heck…listen to the singers and iggy ole Simon the pathological emotional abuser..heh.
