I was embarassed for them when I watched the SOTU. They come across as bitter and hate-filled. They also come across as though they are putting their own self-interest above what is best for the country. I did not mean that Bush had taken liberties from me, personally-at least not yet! I meant that he had taken liberties with his office that he should not be taken. He used the power he "thought" he had to nominate, as Supreme Court Justice, a woman who had not one day of experience on the bench. Luckily, even the Republicans questioned that one. He has used his office to authorize wire taps without legal authorization, which, by the way, could take away my liberties, and which has most definitely taken liberties away from some American citizens already. He took away the right of the citizens to know why they are going to war, by providing us with false and misleading information. He is seeking to take away a basic fundamental right from some citizens by taking away their right to marry the person of their choice.
