Jack

CTU: Jack, Audrey, Lynn and Bill talking about Cummings wanting Jack dead. Cummings is the connection. Let’s talk to Mike — or at least have Jack do it. Lynn reminds Jack he doesn’t work for CTU and Jack says that’s why it will work. Smoke out Cummings the snake. Lynn agrees.

Audrey’s feelings are at the surface. Tamp ‘em down girly girl — you have job to do. She warns Jack that if Cummings knows he’s alive, he’ll go after him again. Duh — he already does.

Cummings on the phone with the Bad Guy Boss. Where is the nerve gas? Should arrive soon.

18 Wheeler pulls into the shipping port — 8 days to arrive in Russia. All papers in order.

President Weak Logan wanders around in a fog. Where is my wife? What are they doing? They watch a video about nerve gas; not for the weak of heart. The President might need some new drawers after this. He looks kind of green. Mike tells about the worst damage possible if the nerve gas is released. Mike gets a message on his cellphone: “Tell - No - One”. Cummings looks concerned.

Mike calls Jack. Jack has a lead on the gas. Mike, tell no one, not on the phone. We have to meet. Mike is uncomfortable. Walt Cummings? Hmm, let’s meet.

Big Bad Guy listens to taped conversation between Jack and Mike, while Walt listens in. You failed. Last warning. Jack is going to expose him. There is only one thing he can do.

Horse barn, looking for Martha, Secret Service. Tack room and she’s hiding behind the saddles. They’re trying to help her, no they are trying to make me look crazy. Someone wants to shut her up because she knows the truth about President Palmer. Please don’t let them take me Aaron. Aaron looks concerned.

Canisters look comfy in their shipping box. Timer? No, electronic lock. Close them up for shipping, sleep tight little germs. Red shipping crate, locked.

Jack on the road to meet Mike. He parks under a tree and waits. His cellphone rings and it’s Audrey. Gotta do the lovey dovey shit during work? Give me a break. She wants to know if he’s coming back when it’s over. He doesn’t know. Are you going back to Diane? No. I don’t know what I’m doing. I never stopped loving you Audrey, not for a second. It’s complicated. Where is Mike? Audrey cries. Jack gets out of the SUV and goes to meet Mike.

President Logan on the phone acting like a chimp on the loose. Aaron informs him Mrs. Logan is fine; hiding in the stables. Aaron tells him what Mrs. Logan told him. The President knows all about it. Walt slithers in the room. He wants to talk to the President.

Walt hisses, I was hoping to spare you, but Jack Bauer is forcing my hand. He has accused me of helping the terrorists with the nerve gas. Can’t be true. Yes, we leaked to the terrorist where the nerve gas was — unspeakable crime. Want to help expose the terrorists. You’re going to pay for this. In your best interest, it’s best you listen. The gas is being smuggled out - we have to show that there is WMDs in Asia — to keep the oil around for the grandkids. Logan calls him a traitor. He says no. Did you have Palmer killed? Yes! Contact the terrorists and make them stop. Can’t do that, insider has gone dark. But you’ll let things play out or your administration will be implicated. Blackmail the weak one.

Mike arrives while Jack waits behind a tree. Handshake. Did you tell anyone we’re meeting. Chopper over the mountain — Secret Service. Who did you tell? SUVs converge. Mike is pissed — stand down. Put your hands up Jack. Orders from the President of the United States. Jack, get on your knees. Handcuffs. Jack is pissed.

President Logan looking into space. Walt hangs up the phone. Bauer is in custody. What good would it do to lock him up? Bauer is being detained because he was going to give away secrets. Are you sure the gas will be released before it can be used on the Russians? Yes. Jack can disappear — he’s not affiliated with anyone. (Think again idiot, he has friends).

Jack brought to the ranch — Aaron sees him. Looks concerned. (What did I say about friends?) Why wasn’t I told? The President’s orders, through Walt’s office.

Division Orders CTU off the search for the canisters. Why? Where is Mike? Unreachable. Where is Jack? Disregard the Presidential order — uh? Bill tells Lynn he’s inexperienced — let’s step outside. Bill says this order will jepordize the search for the canisters until the order is verified. We aren’t doing our job if we stop looking. Lynn backs down and says okay.

Jack in a feed shed? Aaron comes in to move him on the President’s orders to a Class III detention facility. Jack tells Aaron that Walt Cummings is involved with the terrorists and the shooting of Palmer. Aaron believes him, because of what Mrs. Logan told him. Someone is undermining the President’s authority. Please, Aaron, I need your help. Bet he gets it!

Aaron comes in a room, Bauer has escaped. Sends another agent to look for him. Walt says CTU won’t stop looking. Aaron walks in the room with the President and Walt, and Jack comes in the other door. Your Chief of staff has information vital to the safety of the United States. Jack warms up Walt a bit and explains about what he did. Aaron won’t stop him, doing his job. The President says he knows. It’s too late to find the nerve gas. Jack smacks Walt around more, where is the gas? The President says Walt doesn’t know. Jack pulls a knife. Tell me where the gas is. You’re lying. Walt says he doesn’t know and Jack starts to take out his eye. Walt confesses where it is.

Jack calls Bill. Puts him on speaker phone. Nerve gas on a freighter … going to southeast Asia. President tells Bill to disregard the order. Audrey starts people moving toward the shipping docks. Jack tells President Logan he and Agent Pierce are ready to turn themselves in. No, put your shield back on Aaron, get Walt Cummings out of my sight. Jack just stands there. The President tells him the lies Walt told him. He trusted Cummings, he lied to me, he was coerced. There is one more thing. You. The fact you are alive presents problems for both of us. Yes, I accomplished what I set out to do. I want to stay until the gas if found. After that, I will disappear again. Okay, that would be best — for the good of the country. Yes Sir. Shake. Thank you Jack. (Does the man have manners or what? His mom would be proud).

Mrs. Logan leaving for the nut house. Looks sad. Going to the loony bin. President opens the door. You were right. David was trying to warn me. It was Walt Cummings, he convinced me you were out of control. Martha looks shocked. You went along with him - sending me away without a word? Take the First Lady’s bags back to her room. Tries to kiss her, she won’t have none of it. Good for you!!!

Freighter leaving from F. Edgar finds them. Picture of the missing hostage, Jack says it’s his. We must take him alive. Curtis comes in looking at the feed from the shipping port. Don’t shoot unless necessary. Be careful. Break the lock. Open the container. Looking. Find someone in the container - dead. The guy that locked it up originally. Open the box — containers are gone. Get Walt in here. The dead guy was Walt’s inside guy. He was suppose to reprogram the detonators.

I live blogged this post — did I put it all in? No — gotta watch.

Note to self: Don’t read Jo’s 24 posts until you’ve watched the Tivo’d show. Heh. Good summary Jo….I’ll just have to stay away until I’ve watched it on Tivo - we wait until the munchkins are in bed so we are not “interrupted.” 4 and 8 year olds do not understand the importance of FOCUS. ;-)
