I would, but only because I would owe it to my profession. I hated those calls. Worst was calling the stepmom of a guy who was executed in Florida. She was not happy to hear from me.

Well last night when I was watching our local news, they showed one of the miner's family members "reading" the note left behind -- maybe Don's right and it's a way to help them grieve, but I doubt I'd be doing that. Probably why I'm uncomfortable with it becuase I wouldn't do that myself.

If the families want them released, then I say release them. If they don't want them released, then the media should leave them alone and respect their privacy. Not that it's likely to happen that way, but in a perfect world......

Hey, one can dream, right?

So long as the family did it willingly, it's fine by me. These days though, can you trust the media if they say that's what happened?

My understanding is the families released them. It is part of their grieving process. Contrary to street wisdom, families of victims usually want the opposite of privacy. They want their loved one to be remembered.
That is why you see family photos and the like.
Far from seeking privacy, they want to share

I agree. Those notes are a private thing within the family. Check out my blog at www.donttrusthillary.com.
