Jo,

I know what you’re feeling – my husband leaves for Afghanistain in just over a month. Some days I’m OK, but others I’m really emotional. I have been searching like crazy to figure things out about what communication is like, as my husband has never been there. Do you have any good information on what it’s like for them, and what facilities are available to help them contact home? I’ve looked into satellites, cell phones, etc. and it’s just hard not knowing…I’d love to hear from someone who has been there….

Some of us are aware that it is on the backs of the men and women in uniform (and their families’ hearts) that our freedoms are assured.

I agree with what’s already been said in previous comments. God bless you and your husband for your sacrifices for our country. I, for one, appreciate it from the very bottom of my heart and soul.

God Bless you and your husband. Thank both of you for your service on behalf of our country. I corresponded with a woman sgt in Afganistan thru the Books for Soldiers program last year. She is home after her tour there now.

You are both in our prayers.
