Harriet Miers has withdrawn her nomination.

Scrappleface says:

Miss Miers said her withdraw was also prompted by a desire “to pursue other interests…like picking at my cornea with a dental instrument.”

Amen.

I was very nervous about Miers, and honestly am glad the concern is off the table. Then again, as my DH said, “The President gets to pick who he wants”.

Personally, if I were a judge, lawyer, or anyone with a shot at this nomination, I would run for the hills and not come back until a new Supreme Court justice is sworn in. There is no way in God’s creation that I would suffer through what this woman has suffered, what John Roberts suffered, or any recent nominee. The whole process is pure nightmare.

Jo adds: Amen!! But then again, the process is only this bad when a Republican nominates someone for the Highest Court.

– Euphoric Reality has an Open Post reference Ms. Miers and the blogosphere’s reaction here.

  1. Ok, now W should nominate Janice Rogers Brown and let the white racist Democrats show themselves.
