Toledo Intolerance
Emergency Declared After Anti-Nazi Riots
TOLEDO, Ohio
Protesters at a white supremacists’ march threw rocks at police, vandalized vehicles and stores and cursed the mayor for allowing the event.
Thoughts?
A. The Neo-Nazis followed the law and were authorized to march.
B. The police didn’t anticipate that the citizenry of their fair city wouldn’t be tolerant.
C. Doesn’t Freedom of Speech apply to the Neo-Nazis who marched peacefully?
Keep it clean folks, please do not attack each other. I’d like to see what you all think and I will post some of the comments tomorrow.

I agree. Quite honestly, in the grand scheme of things it wouldn’t have mattered if their march was legal or not. Throwing rocks at another human being is called ASSAULT and BATTERY in most legal systems, and those along with vandalism are usually considered illegal. I hope they were punished accordingly.
A counter-protest would have been perfectly acceptable.

The riot continued even after the Neo-Nazis had left. Businesses were targeted and innocent people were threatened. The rioters were animals and didn’t care who they took their agression out on.

I agree a counter protest would have been the best option — the smart option — the adult option … what’s that say about the people that did none of the above? They are animals .. and continue to purpetuate the feelings of many that a lot of the black communities in larger cities are uncivilized.

Toledo reminds me of 92 Los Angeles. All this was, was an excuse “to cut loose”. While a few racists in the rioting crowd may have targeted the pub to burn down because the owners were white, the rioters just wanted to go out and destroy, rob, and maybe even rape. They don’t really care about why, because they can do it and will do it until shot.
