Not sure if my filter is gold, but it is a “permanent” filter and it does make a difference.

Looks like I’m going to break down and get me a metal basket for the home pot.
Another tip for those stuck drinking the sludge at work .. when making it, put a dash of salt in the grounds. This helps pull the bitter taste out of the coffe.
I also take my own creamer and sweetner and use that instead of whatever bottom of the barrlel, on sale crap they buy at work.

Enjoyed the coffee post. I do love my morning java! The gold coffee filter is true, too. I use one and it does make a difference.
