Tonight’s telethon
Just saw the news that the celebrities will not be censored during the Katrina telethon tonight:
“The only precautions we have right now are for language,” said Gallen, who added that he does not expect any of the dozens of musicians or celebrities appearing on “Shelter From the Storm: A Concert for the Gulf Coast” to editorialize.
Yeah, right…why would they admit it ahead of time?
I hadn’t intended on watching, as I have no interest in the celebrities that are appearing and I have already donated funds to a charity (I will likely this weekend donate some supplies for local refugees as well).
However, if I had been planning to watch, I would have changed my mind on the basis of this article. I hope others will do the same. There are lots of ways to donate — if you are blog-savvy, you can find them easily, but if not, pick Jo’s Salvation Army link at the top left of this page or check out her Katrina relief post here.
Or, click on any of the major blogs on her blogroll and follow their links.
