The MerryMadMonk has a great post about the people in the military today, their parents and the MSM.

I’m getting sick and tired of reading about parents of soldiers killed in action lashing out at the President, pointing the finger of accusation at our nation’s policies. Truth be told, their son/daughter probably joined the military, in part, to get away from their lame-ass, willy-nilly parenting.

I too am sick of this. People in the military who make it a career take it all in stride, but I get really really angry. My husband reminds me every day, “I wear the uniform so they can have the freedom to bitch,” yet these people don’t seem to appreciate the freedoms brought to them “by” the military.

The MerryMadMonk goes on:

And what about the killing and violence that takes place every single day in our cities? Hell, they just had 20 shootings the other day in Chicago, alone. Where are all the peaceniks? Why aren’t the MSM talking more about what’s happening in the inner cities?

Exactly!! Why aren’t the papers or Ted “I am a murderer” Kennedy yelling about the quagmire on the streets of Chicago?? New York City?? San Francisco?? Other large cities with large murder rates??

Then let’s not even talk about the deaths that occur to our military at their home bases via accidents or other means. We lost a female solider here at Fort Benning last week due to a vehicle accident. She was an active duty member, she died while serving her country in a vehicle accident on post.

Yes, my heart burns and I cry when we loose soldiers in war, but we loose people every day in this country due to other means, yet the MSM hates George Bush so much, and those that voted for him they can’t get their heads wrapped around the fact that

a) we were attacked, it wasn’t the other way around
b) the military’s job is to protect us, from threats “foreign or domestic”

I consider the MSM’s attacks on our administration no more than a terrorist attack via words. They hate as much as those that flew those planes into New York and the Pentagon. They use words and lies to harm.

And as for you mansy pansy parents complaining about your children going to war — stop and remember why your sons and daughters went into the military? Was it for an education only? Then maybe you should have gotten off your ass and figured out how to send them to college without having to go into the military. The blame is yours parents. You raised them. Your children either didn’t agree with your anti-war stance, or they so loved their country they were willing to serve it.

Stop your damn bitching and complaining. In my book you look like a bunch of asses. Oh, btw, I went in the military myself to get out of a little po-dunk town in Southern Minnesota that held no future for me. Yes — I knew I might go to war and die, that’s what I was trained for, but that was a small price to pay for the freedom of being an American.

  1. thanks for the link, Jo.

p.s. great new look. As Tommy R. Franks used to say: Bring it on home now; call the law. Jim Carey translation: it’s good; it’s gooooooooooooood. :p

  2. Amen, sister. If I hear one more “Mad Military Mom” bitch and moan, I’m going to hurl.

Someone needs to tell these people that their precious children would probably run a higher risk of dying if they were on a college campus, binge drinking three nights a week.

At least in the military, they’re gaining experience and maturity for the greater good.

    So there.

  3. Oh yeah, I read that one and am going to link to it later on in the day. Need to let the Cotillion post stay up a little longer.

    He ROCKS!

  4. I am a Military Parent.
1SG MG spent all 2004 in Iraq…..he is home now, healthy, and retired.
(he spent alot of time in other clashes around the world as well)

I am a HERO Mother…I feel like I went too. And, Im soooooo proud of him and his 24 years of service. He went to do Uncle Sam’s work, ’cause he was Patriotic, and wanted some excitement…….gung ho, was how I described him as a teen.

I have yellow ribbons on the back of my Repubican SUV, bragging and praying about/for our Troops.

The 1SG is back in his civilian job now, and HIS SON is doing his boot camp training at Ft. Sill….right now.

So……we continue in the Service of our Country…..with Pride.

These whiney AZZed people, who are complaining about all of the above, Jo………are from a generation, where some people/kids/parents were raised by people, who if they were the Man On The Street…they wouldnt know who the first POTUS was. Its lack of intelligence/compassion, in a ME generation/world.

My Prayers for all of our Troops, who enlisted of their own free will, for their own personal reasons…..because they are EXCEPTIONAL PEOPLE.

And, my Prayers for the EXCEPTIONAL people who make up their families, who provide excellent support from home.

The support from HOME is essentual!

  5. The CSM is a better person than I am. I hope he & all the military understand that the vast, silent majority of us support them.
