I don’t care what Jester Durbin is saying now, he’s still a dick and I’m still steaming over it.

From the Washington Times on Saturday,

Sen. Richard J. Durbin expressed a conditional “regret” yesterday for his remarks linking Guantanano Bay interrogations to Adolf Hitler, Josef Stalin and Pol Pot after Vice President Dick Cheney and the American Legion unleashed another day of rebukes of the Senate’s No. 2 Democrat.

Conditional regret?

“I have learned from my statement that historical parallels can be misused and misunderstood,” said the Illinois senator. “I sincerely regret if what I said caused anyone to misunderstand my true feelings: our soldiers around the world and their families at home deserve our respect, admiration and total support.”

Misused and misunderstood? I didn’t misunderstand a damn thing you said Dick. A nazi concentration camp and Camp Delta don’t compare one bit! And blatently calling our soldiers that provide the freedoms in this country nazis, stalinists and members of Pol Pot’s regime is outragous — even if they do wear the uniform to give you the freedom to be the jackass you are. We don’t misunderstand one word you say Jester Durbin. Your true colors of hatred toward this country, this administration and our soldiers came through loud and clear.

And should we be any more surprised that no one in his party is taking him to task?

Congressional Democrats have been mostly quiet on the issue, declining to defend or condemn one of their leaders. Senate Minority Leader Harry Reid, Nevada Democrat, took to the Senate floor Thursday to talk of his long friendship with Mr. Durbin and to criticize the “noise machine of the far right.” He did not specifically address his deputy’s Nazi speech.

So, now it’s the “noise machine of the far right” thats twisted Dick’s arm and forced him to say the things he said? What happened to being a man and standing up and admitting when you make a mistake? Oh right, I’m talking about the left here — everything is someone elses fault, especially the people on the right.

Remember when the dimwits got their panties all in a snit over Trent Lott’s statements in December 2002 at Strom Thurmond’s 100th Birthday party? Lott ended up having to resign his position as Senate Republican Leader.

Where is the outcry to have Jester Durbin removed from his position as Democratic Whip, the 2nd highest position in the Senate? The Boston Globe (H/T: Powerline) has called for his resignation. But I sure don’t hear much out of the MSM calling for it. Yes, the blogosphere is demanding he resign, as have several people who have called into talk shows and other mediums. But the MSM won’t stand up there and demand it – not like they did Trent Lott.

If you can find one MSM organization out there that is asking for Jester Durbin’s resignation from his position as Democratic Whip, please let me know. I can’t find one (outside of the Boston Glob noted above).

People — we need to call our representatives in Washington and let them know we demand his resignation NOW. They pushed Trent Lott out and that man apologized for what he said, Dick hasn’t apologized.
