Choices come to each us every day. Some are hard, some are not - some are simply to live by.

I got up this morning knowing the choice I made to munch on cashews until 11 pm would make today a day of choices. Sure enough - MBG 241. Well, I knew something was going to happen with my cashew feast.

Off to breakfast - normal, take meds, drink coffee, check e-mail, go to work.

Lunch. Choice was the answer, actually a “Choice” Diabetic Meal replacement bar. First stop during the now free lunch hour was Publix to pick up stuff for the birthday lunch tomorrow. Grabbed a couple bags of 2 for 1 peanuts and a Diet Sunkist. Next stop the bookstore, munching on peanut bag #1.

Now, let me tell you, going in there and spending any amount of time is bound to help my BG drop. I just love bookstores. After a purchase, I head back to the office.

Continue throughout the rest of the afternoon until my stomach says “Hey, I didn’t have your normal salad for lunch, so I’m hungry now.” Herein comes into play peanut bag #2.

So I finally head out at 5:01 pm to the homestead. Choice: Don’t worry about evening BG reading, it will be what it’s going to be.

Get home, let out the boys and head to the bathroom. Take out strips, meter, log book and lancet. Strip in the meter, prick finger, take blood sample. BEEP 5 seconds later and woopeee 198!!

Choice: Supper to be carb free then a half hour walk around the sub-division. Hubby’s sound asleep. Choice? Soap Net, a glass of wine, and Pogo.com (it’s badge day you know )
