I have switched to Bare Escentuals. I mainly buy it from QVC, but there are stores around the country too. Unfortunately, I’m not that close to one, and I’m not going to spend the gas money to drive to Atlanta when I can have it shipped right to my front door.
Now what is Bare Escentuals you ask? Well - let’s see:
Since 1976, Bare Escentuals has been breaking all the rules about makeup with the introduction of our revolutionary foundation called bareMinerals®. bareMinerals are 100% pure, crushed minerals derived from the earth and are free of preservatives, talc, oil, fragrance, dyes, and other chemicals that can irritate skin. It’s makeup so pure you can sleep in it!
Yes - you can sleep in it, although that is never recommended for anyone wearing make-up. I have noticed a marked reduction in break outs since using this product. It doesn’t seem to clog up the pores as much as a liquid foundation does.
For base makeup, I use bareMinerals SPF 15 Powder Foundation , in the color Med Beige 2.3; and Bare Escentuals Bisque Multi-Tasking Makeup. It’s like a concealer in a way. I use it on top of the Foundation to cover up stuff it didn’t (which isn’t much really), and a base before putting on my eye makeup.
These are the two basics of their makeup. They have other products such as eye shadow, eye liner, blush, and the list goes on and on.
What I like about these products the best is that they are a powder - not a liquid. You do not apply this product with your fingers - which is not recommended by any make-up artist out there as the oils from your fingers can contaminate your foundation - but you apply it with a brush! And you don’t need a whole lot either, which is a good thing because this product is not cheap. You put a little of the product in the cap, swish it into the brush, tap off the excess and then brush onto your face. You can use as little or as much as you want with it, but you will find out that a little goes a long way.
On the weekends I just use a little of the Bisque on my trouble spots, mascara and eyeliner and a dab of blush and I’m out the door. I would recommend this to anyone out there. Over the years I have tired so many products, I can’t imagne how rich I’d be if I’d invested that money instead! The best part of buying it through QVC is you have 30 days to try it out and if you don’t like it, send it back. But - I have never sent back any Bare Escentuals product. I have tried other brands that QVC carries, but this has worked out the best for me.
Here is a blurb from QVC’s website about the CEO of Bare Escentuals:
Leslie Blodgett, President and CEO of San Francisco-based Bare Escentuals, is a nationally recognized beauty expert with more than two decades of product development experience. Leslie started her career working behind cosmetic counters of major department stores. She then branched out into product development and formulation for skin, hair, and facial products at large cosmetic companies.
She does the presentations on QVC herself! Please try it if you get a chance, or at least go on QVC and read about this great company and their products.
