I should also note that I also suffer from Hypothyroidism due to Radio Active Iodine treatment for Graves Disease. Fortunately for me, I have this as under control as possible.

What RAI does is kill the thyroid off. Mine had gotten so bad that it was the only option available to me (that’s what I was told by the doctor anyway). After it was already gone, I learned there were medications out there that could have treated it - but wasn’t given the option of them.

But- the anger from that is long gone. After a year on T4 replacement only, I wasn’t doing so well. After reading as much as I could, I decided I wanted to try another treatment, fired my Endo and went hunting for a Doctor that would work with me. Fortunately, I only had to drive an hour from where I was living at the time to find one. He gave me the option of three medications: Armour (natural formula from pigs), Thyolar (a T4/T3 combo set to the human body) and adding Clymotal (T3 only) to my T4 replacement. I opted for Armour, and have been doing well on 2 grains daily since.
