My first meter that I purchased on the day I was diagnosed is the Accu-Check Active. I bought this one mainly because my insurance wouldn’t pay for it, and it was the cheapest one they had. Insurance does cover the test strips and lancets - thankfully.
The second one I bought the other night was WalMart’s ReliOn Ultima. This one waas only $8.88 and 50 test strips are $21.98. I dont’ have a script for the tests strips on this one, but at the price WalMart charges, it’s not that big of a deal.
