After quite a tough competition between three muscular hunks for the honor of being the next ‘Conan The Barbarian,’ the role finally went to Jason Momoa. The losers are ‘Twilight’’s Kellan Lutz and ‘Supernatural’’s Jared Padalecki.

Stargate Atlantis and Baywatch fans will recognize Jason Moma.

I’m in no way a follower of “Twilight” and haven’t a clue who Jared Padalecki is.  But I did look up Kellan Lutz and Jared on IMDB and Momoa is the best choice hands down.

Go look at the picture here on Wiki about Conan the Barbarian and you can see just in that adaptation, Jason is the better fit.  He just has the look.   The other two – not so much.

We all know that Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger played the original Conan and Jason (in my opinion) fits closer to the original movie better.

Sure Hollywood has a way of making actors look their parts, but with Jason – they won’t have to do much I think.

Congrats Jason – will look forward to watching.

Not what I thought it was going to be about that’s for sure.  I love Ben Stein period, so queued it up from Netflix and sat down Sunday and watched.

Nope – wasn’t a movie about how schools are brain washing kids … well, not totally anyway.

It’s about the science community wanting the total destruction of the religions of the world because according to some dead dude named Darwin, God isn’t real.

I cried at several points in the movie as my gut wrenched into knots.

If I had children, I’d be moving heaven and earth today to get them out of public school and into church based schools and/or colleges.

I’m not smart in a lot of ways of history, science, etc and I have only a high school diploma, but I recognize hate when I see it.

I plan on picking up the book, “From Darwin to Hitler: Evolutionary Ethics, Eugenics, and Racism in Germany” by Richard Weikart mentioned in the film.

Saw Misison:Impossible:III and was not disappointed.

Did the good guys win?  DUH!

Did the guy get the girl?  Go buy a ticket.

For two hours I forgot there was a war in Afghanistan, that I had to go to work tomorrow, and there were clothes to be folded, washed … whatever.

It was a great ride, another great movie, another great adventure. 

But isn’t that why you go to the movies anyway?

The Da Vinci Codemakes a mockery of Jesus Christ suggesting that He and Mary Magdalene married and had children whose line exists today, but a secret society conspired to keep it secret. This assertion in the book and the film (starring Tom Hanks, directed by Ron Howard) has Christians like myself, upset.

I can’t post comments over there due to not having a sign in, which is fine — I have too many to keep up with anyway.

IT – IS – JUST – A – BOOK – OF – FICTION 

Where is the uproar with hours and hours of TV documentaries against Madonna because of her latest stunt?  They are not out there and there never will be.  The people against Mr. Brown’s “work of fiction” would love to see the man stoned, but they will turn a blind eye to Madonna — hypocrites. 

Stop your damn bitching for one minute and think …. 

How many people are going to turn back to God because of this book / movie?  

How many are going to go to the Bible for answers? 

Sometimes God will give us tools we don’t recognize; it’s how we chose to use them that counts. 

Remember the joke about the guy sitting on the roof of his house during a flood begging God to save him?  Three people came by with boats, but the guy turned them away — waiting on God.  When he was about to drown, he asked God why he didn’t save him, God responded, “I sent you three boats.”

The book was a page turner, and even knowing the events, I still enjoyed the ride.  It has been over a year since I read Code and it’s companion Angels and Demons, so some things had slipped my mind.

Critics smitics — It was worth it. 

Great job Ron Howard, great job.

The book is a work of fiction — you don’t find it in the non-fiction isle of the bookstore. 

So why is the Catholic church got their panties in a snit? I wonder, do they protest just a bit too much?

She takes particular issue with Cruise’s claims that mental illness is imaginary and that medication should not be used to treat such disorders. Cruise has criticised actor Brooke Shields for treating her post-natal depression with antidepressants. Cornwell, who studied psychology while researching her blockbuster mystery books, says: “There’s going to be some girl or boy who worships this megastar and decides not to take anti-depressants because Tom Cruise says no drugs are necessary.” It’s yet to be revealed what drugs Cruise was taking when he jumped about on Oprah Winfrey’s couch professing love for his now pregnant fiancee, Katie Holmes.

Photog Charged Over Witherspoon Incident

A photographer was charged with child endangerment and battery for allegedly striking a 5-year-old child with his camera and shoving another out of the way to take pictures of Reese Witherspoon and her children.

Todd K. Wallace, 44, was charged Friday and was due back in court Wednesday, Assistant City Attorney Patrick Ahle said.

The photographer also is charged with battering the 5-year-old’s mother, who is a friend of Witherspoon, and two employees at a Disney theme park, said Anaheim Police Sgt. Rick Martinez.

Wallace became angry when the “Legally Blonde” star and her friends declined to be photographed Sept. 2 at Disney’s California Adventure and cursed them, Martinez said. Wallace was initially cited for misdemeanor assault and battery of the two employees.

The incident left some of the children in tears.

Tabloids must realize that “battering and endangering a child to get a picture for their magazines is criminal and not business as usual,” said Witherspoon’s attorney, Blair Berk.

I realize these people have a job – taking pictures well is a good living for a lot of people, but to go as far to hurt an innocent child just to make a buck is outrageous. This person is slime in my opinion. So what if she didn’t want to have her picture taken? That doesn’t call for assaulting a child. I hope if this asshole doesn’t get a serious jail sentence, he gets a fine so hefty it puts him in the poor house.

Author expelled after calling Harry Potter “gay”

LONDON (Reuters) – A British cleric and top-selling author of children’s books was thrown out of a school where he said Harry Potter was “gay” during a talk to 12-year-olds.

Reverend Graham Taylor, who penned the novel “Shadowmancer” which, like the tales of the famous boy wizard created by J.K. Rowling, centers on witchcraft and battling evil, got his marching orders after teachers accused him of homophobia.

“As for Harry Potter, well, he’s not the only gay in the village,” Taylor told children at Penair School in Truro, southwest England, referring to a catchphrase from the popular British comedy TV show “Little Britain.”

He also said villains in Rowling’s blockbuster series were “wimps” and called TV “crap” compared to books.

Teachers stopped Taylor’s talk and asked him to leave.

“We were very disappointed to have to curtail a visit from Mr Taylor,” the school said in a statement on Thursday.

Taylor, whose book topped the British book charts for 15 weeks with the film rights also sold for 2.25 million pounds, was unrepentant and accused staff of censorship.

“It was a joke; a joke from ‘Little Britain’ that the children would know,” Taylor was quoted by newspapers as saying.

“I didn’t set out to offend. I’m a priest and I’m very careful about not offending people.”
