Rush has started calling Obama the man-child.  I about drove through a stop sign yesterday when I heard that.  Then of course I had to Twitter it and text my husband.  Rush - you’re dangerous to us drivers

Evidently Obama has decided to play dirty pool.  Although, most children aren’t tall enough to reach the pool table, Obama has the advantage of height here.   But still, when you’re going to play in the adult arena, they expect you to act like one.

I think we can safely say that Obama made a stupid move here. What’s that saying about throwing rocks when you live in a glass house?

I tell you its a bad day when your doctor calls in sick!   He evidently had wrenched his back out sometime on Monday and had been in the ER himself most of that night.   Appointment was pushed to the afternoon.  He said old age was catching up to him - but I know I’m older than he is.  

Anyway - he changed my blood pressure medication.  One of the reasons he won’t put me on what the hubby takes is that the Atenolol will mask low blood sugar symptoms and that’s not good for a diabetic.   We tend to ignore low sugar symptoms as we go along anyway and if they are masked, we could miss them all together and cause major problems.

The big thing that surprised me is my TSH was suppressed to 0.   I have been at a .2 or .3 for seven years now, on the same dose of Armour the whole time.  This could also explain some of the odd cold like issues I was having.  We are going to back the dose down a half a grain.  (Armour is dispensed in grains.  1 Grain is 60 mgs.   I take 120 mgs a day.  So now I’m going to take a grain and half, or 90 mgs).

This morning I feel much better than I have in the last three weeks.   Still tired, but that could be from the stress of it all.   Slept like a baby last night.   Sugar was a nice 70 this morning and I have more energy than the last few days.

Oh, and I lost 6 pounds without trying LOL

The Sweetness of Married Life

The newlyweds were only married two weeks, when the husband said to the wife, “Honey I’m going to Hank’s Tavern to have a beer, I’ll be right back.”

“Where are you going, Coochy Coo?” asked the wife.

“I’m going to the bar, Pretty Face,” he answered, “I’m going to have a beer.”

The wife said, “You want a beer, my love?” She opened the door to the refrigerator and showed him 25 different kinds of beer, brands from 12 different countries: Germany , Holland , Japan , India , etc.

The husband didn’t know what to do, and the only thing that he could think of saying was, “Yes, Lollipop … but at the bar … you know … they have frozen glasses…”

He didn’t get to finish the sentence, because the wife interrupted him by saying, “You want a frozen glass, Puppy Face?” She took a huge beer mug out of the freezer, so frozen that she was getting chills just holding it.

The husband, looking a bit pale, said, “Yes, Tootsie Roll, but at the bar they have those hors d’oeuvres that are really delicious … I won’t be long. I’ll be right back. I promise. OK?”

“You want hors d’oeuvres, Poochie Pooh?” She opened the oven and took out five dishes of different hors d’oeuvres: chicken wings, pigs in blankets, mushroom caps, and little quiches.

“But my sweet honey … at the bar … you know there’s swearing, dirty words and all that… ”

“You want dirty words, Cutie Pie? LISTEN UP, CHICKEN SHIT! SIT YOUR ASS DOWN, SHUT THE HELL UP, DRINK YOUR BEER IN YOUR FROZEN MUG AND EAT YOUR HORS D’OEUVRES BECAUSE YOU’RE MARRIED AND YOUR ASS ISN’T GOING TO A DAMNED BAR! THAT SHIT IS OVER, GOT IT, JACKASS?”

And … they lived happily ever after. Isn’t that a sweet story?

MARRIED LIFE … MAKES MY EYES TEAR UP

I am a Blackberry user.  In fact, this post started in an email to myself from my Blackberry while laying on the couch. 

Today I was home sick and firmly planted on the couch - Blackberry in hand.  The living room has the better TV,  but that’s for another post.  So when not napping, I was surfing Twitter and my Google Reader.

When are you people out there in the blogosphere going to get with it and make your blogs mobile ready?  Not every net ready gadget with a small screen can adjust for all the different blogs and websites out there. 

Even the New York Slimes has a mobile ready page.

There are several blogs I know not to go to with my Blackberry because their owners / creators don’t care about small screen readers.  

As the iPhone, Blackberry world expands why are blogs staying in the Windows 3.1 era and not making their blogs accessible by all - no matter the size of the browser?

Come on folks. Get with it!  I did a basic search in Google when I first went mobile to find the right plugin for my platform.   How many seconds do you think it would take Google to find something for your blogging platform?  (Wow, I went mobile with my blog in 2006 - Two years ago!!)

Do you like visitors?  How about those sitting in the doctor’s waiting room trying to ignore the kid beating out a samba on the chair next to them? (raises hand)  Or the person in the dentist chair trying to ignore the fact novocaine was mentioned in the last conversation? (raises hand)

Let me know when you’ve brought your blog into the 21st Century and I’ll swing by on the Blackberry when I’m in the doctor’s office again

I did not watch the Rick Warren love fest with “The One” and John McCain.   (The sound of “The One”s voice makes my blood boil and my eyes start to cross uncontrollably.)   I happened to catch the last 45 minutes of it, John McCain’s part, Sunday morning when I got up.  Since I’m voting for John McCain over “The One”, the answers were what I expected.

As the day went on, I began to see through blogs and Twitter evidently McCain did better with Rick Warren’s questions than “The One” did.   Specifically the question about abortion.  Pro-life groups want to hear “at conception” when people are asked about when life begins.  Seems “The One” didn’t prep his answers very well and made a stupid answer about pay grades (eye roll).  Yup, this man went to Harvard … just goes to show they’ll take anyone. (But we know how “The One” and his wife feel about abortion)

Abortion is a huge issue for a goodly amount of people in the country.   Those that are going to vote on one issue alone will vote about abortion.  (But then you know how I feel about one issue voters)  John McCain’s answer, one he believes in, made the right point with Rick Warren’s congregation. 

So now “The One” supporters are floating the idea, where else but in the MSM, saying McCain cheated by being able to hear the answers Obama gave.   (They both got the same questions btw).   This is so typical of the left.   Since they never learned how to lose gracefully they whine about someone cheating.   Instead of excepting the fact McCain did better on many questions than their “Messiah” did, the only reason they can think of is someone cheated.   They cannot fathom the idea that  *gasp*  McCain just happens to be the one more in line with the majority of the people in that audience.  

I have seen some clips of “The One” answering his questions.   Can you say uncomfortable?  He looked out of place and instead of appearing to answer from the heart, he was stuttering and stammering to find the right answer to get a standing O from the audience.  There were talking heads all day saying that “The One” has always been more comfortable talking about his faith than McCain, so it should have been “his arena.”  (”The One” has only talked about his faith when confronted with his mentors Wright and Pfleger, otherwise, I have no clue what bible he’s reading from to get his radical ideas.)

As I understand it, this was not a win or lose situation, but a forum where two people running for the highest office in the land answered the same questions put forth by a respected religious leader in California.  (No, he wasn’t Rev. Wright and Mr. Warren doesn’t believe in the Black Liberation Theology, so of course the questions were directed at the meat of the man, not the covering. )

Like the answers or not, to me this seems to have been the first real forum where teleprompters and speech writers weren’t able to control the message.

One flopped, one didn’t.

This picture I found on Flickr reminds me of when Roscoe was a puppy.  He still sleeps like this at times .. but of course takes up much more space.

How has your week gone?  Mine is so - so.  Remember when I mentioned the issue with the high blood pressure pills?  Well the 2nd set started doing the same thing to me.  I didn’t take anything Friday and by the time I got home, I knew my BP was up.   I took one of Hubby’s HBP meds - but still didn’t feel right.  Better, just not as well as on the other stuff.   Thankfully I see the doctor on Tuesday and we can get this all straightened out.

We got our dual monitors at work this week.  How cool to have what seems like acres of monitor space to work with.   Mine were put in Thursday night and so had all day Friday to get use to them.  But I’m not yet.  I keep forgetting that one screen gets this program, this one gets this one, or I switch them around LOL … its fun to figure out the best way to handle them for me.

There was one odd event Friday.  One of our co-workers was let go.  But I didn’t realize it until about an hour later, because (drum roll) she was still there when quiting time came!   I feel awful for her.  She really was trying to get the stuff she had to do and I don’t make the decisions the higher ups have to.  I hope she can find something quickly, as she’s single and supporting herself.  God - look out for her will you?
