In Star Trek II: The Wrath of Khan, we learn about how Captain Kirk was able to “cheat” to win the No-Win Scenario of the Kobayashi Maru test while he was in the academy.  This scene is played out in Star Trek in 2009.  An arrogant Kirk sits in the command chair eating an apple while the student crew around him are stunned at his confidence.  They had no clue he’d cheated to win.

Barney Frank seems to believe, as did Captain Kirk, you can just change the rules to fit the situation you are in.

Rep. Barney Frank (D-Mass.) suggested that the Senate abolish the filibuster in recent interview with Air America Radio.

“It is time to shut it down,” Frank said. “God didn’t create the filibuster, it’s part of the Senate rules.”

He continued: “We have a serious constitutional problem. There has been a de facto amendment of the U.S. Constitution in an anti-small-D democratic direction.”  Via the Huffington Post

Of have no way of knowing if Captain Kirk was a Republican, Progressive, Liberal, or Conservative, but cheating is cheating no matter the time, place or situation.
