We all know those people that walk around with an air of arrogance around them.  In The Devil Wore Prada we saw how power was worn in high fashion, but it was layered with an arrogance that made the wearer ugly. 

Pride goeth before destruction, and an haughty spirit before a fall.  (Proverbs16:18.) You can be proud of your accomplishments, but when it goes to your head and you fail to realize you are not going to win all the time, you become arrogant.

Remember this picture from the beer/race summit Obama had to pull together after he screwed up and let us all know how he really felt about cops and white people?  Note how he is walking ahead of his guests?  The man who Obama accused of being “stupid” and his supposed friend are behind him.  The younger man, the cop, the white stupid cop, was helping his accuser down the stairs.  Where was the President of the United States?  Why, he’s the president don’t you know, he doesn’t have to do lowly work, and surely the white folk can do the heavy lifting while he takes all the credit.  Okay – I don’t know what he was actually thinking, but good manners obviously were never taught in the Obama home.

 Now we all know that Nancy Pelosi and Harry Reid are so full of themselves – we’ve seen it evidenced since the take over of the Congress in 2006 by the Democrats. Now they had control, but they were going to be nice; bipartisan. But we saw the truth to that statement in the Nancy Does Jumping Jacks video during Obama’s first State of the Union Address. Every word out of his mouth was a lie; every statement reversed what he said on the campaign trail; but it didn’t matter – her boy was in and she was happy. He could have turned around and told her there was a bug in her hair and she would have jumped up in another fit of clapping. Obama was her messiah and all was well in her world.

But was it? Or is it should I say is it?   Well, the pride is out and it has turned to arrogance.

Harry Reid has pissed off a local newspaper in Las Vegas.  He told the oldest newspaper in the area, The Review-Journal, that he wanted them to go out of business.  Hmmm, sounds like maybe this newspaper hasn’t been in the tank for Obama.   We know that Harry Reid follows Obama around like a puppy, so I would not be surprised to find out this news organization wasn’t all hail Harry Reid all the time.   From the comments on the story, seems this newspaper is more conservative than MSNBCish.  No legs with thrills here it seems.

The town-hall meetings are another example.  These politicians stand up there and preach to the masses what “is” going to happen – forgetting that without those masses … they wouldn’t have a job.

In the end, 2010 will be a vote on the arrogance factor going on in Washington DC.
