Jobs

NCR recently announced they are moving their headquarters from (city), Ohio to Duluth, GA and an ATM manufacturing plant to Columbus, GA.  People in Ohio will either move with the HQ or loose their jobs.  That leaves slots to fill from the Atlanta (Duluth) community.  Its a bonus for the Columbus, GA/Phenix City, AL area because jobless will be able to get work.

Columbus is hearing cash registers sing with the news that NCR will bring a manufacturing plant and 870 jobs to the mostly military and industrial city.

“We have a lot of growth here in Columbus,” said Chris McCoy, general manager of Peachtree Mall in Columbus. “We’re excited about this move.”

NCR, maker of registers, self-checkouts, ATMs and airline check-in kiosks, announced Tuesday it will open a new ATM plant in Columbus, in addition to moving its headquarters from Ohio to Gwinnett County.

So in the Obama way of doing math, this is creating jobs … but what about the lost jobs on Ohio? Where do they figure in?

Obama is saying now that the 300,000+ lost jobs in May is okay, because it’s less than the 600,000+ lost the month before.

Excuse me?  Lost jobs are lost jobs, doesn’t matter if its 300,000 or 600,000.

President Obama is set to announce Monday plans to ramp up spending of the $787 billion in economic stimulus money this summer, promising to create or save 600,000 new jobs.

The president is frustrated that it’s taking so long to get the money into the American economy. The national unemployment rate hit 9.4 percent last week, a 25-year high. According to the government’s website, only $37 billion had been spent by May 22, and a good portion of that money went to Social Security recipients and tax relief. [The Christian Science Monitor]

There is no way to determine how many jobs Obama (God to some) has created. Its a more of the  emperor standing in front of his mirror admiring his clothes, while we all know he’s naked.

BTW, why are “teenagers” included in the job statistics? This makes no sense to me at all. How can jobless figures use a group of people who don’t look for full-time work on average, but are mostly in the part-time field? And – how many teenagers just don’t have jobs at all? I only worked during the summer months growing up and those were in jobs farm related (silo buildings, weed pulling, etc). For the most part, during the school year, I baby-sat or worked as a waitress on the weekends. This is not full-time employment and I believe these people should not be included in the jobs market figuring.

This country is bleeding jobs in many areas – but not all.  As noted above, there are areas which are gaining jobs.  A lot has to do with the individual states and their business friendly policies.  The amount of taxes charged to businesses is a major selling point.  Also, Georgia and Alabama are right to work states – no unions like the UAW in Michigan destroying it.

I only know that Obama is spending our money as fast as a teenager in a mall with mom’s credit card and must be stopped.  He’s blind to what is really going on in this country, but has a Hilter like vision.

Thank your boss today. Grit your teeth and go to work and be thankful you are not one of the unemployed. At the rate Obamagod is going, any one of us could be in the unemployment line at any time.

The unemployment rate is calculated by those who are able and willing (that means those who can work and who are ACTIVELY looking for work- teenagers that are not looking for work do NOT fall into this statistic.
Also, while 300,000 jobs lost is a huge, unfortunate number, I’m pretty sure that most folks would say it’s an improvement by oh, about 50%. The point is that 300,000 jobs lost is better than 600,000 jobs lost.
This economic disaster was not made in a day (it took about 8 years to make) and it won’t be fixed in a day, either.
Allow a bit of time (read: MORE than 5 months) for President Obama and Congress to try and fix it before you criticize. Those criticizing at this point only have GWB to thank.

Teenagers should not be calculated into full-time, year-round unemployment figures. Its a way for the government to inflate numbers

When are you going to stop blaming Bush? When does Obama’s decisions (IE: not letting Congress read bills HE signed) start being NOT GW’s fault?

You are so brain-washed to the Obama way … don’t come crying to me when none of the actions he’s taken now work. Because all you have to do is look at the Jimmy Carter Presidency to see they won’t. Obama is a failure in the making.

What is so bad is this country may never recover from his statist ideals.

BTW, if this country sucks so bad — why haven’t you left you yet? I’m sure Castro would love a new comrade!
