No More Shots!
I am not taking another damn flu shot again PERIOD!
I stopped taking them after I left the Army in 1980. Never failed, shot one day, in bed sick to death the next.
Since I was diagnosed a diabetic the doctor has been asking me to take one – not demanding, but asking. Each time I’ve refused.
What hair brained thought got up my ass this year to do it I have no clue but they were offered free at work, so I got one.
Every other week since I’ve been sick. This past week I was sick again and lost time at work!
Dead virus my ass.
No more.

I have never taken a flu shot. But I’m one of those holistic approach people – I hate meds too.

Well, I hit up Vitacost.com and have some stuff on order, including the old stand by Echinacia.

Jo, do you know how a flu shot works? The biggest complaint is low grade fever and soreness for a few days (the reason many people claim they recieved the flu from the shot). You have the fever and soreness because your body is thinking its under attack and produces the antibodies to the flu from interaction with the dead flu.
Did you see your doctor to have your illness diagnosed after your shot? I only ask because any number of things can cause illness, and because you get a shot then get sick cannot be attributed to the shot alone. I am not saying that you didn’t have a reaction to the shot, it does happen with some people. Are you allergic to eggs? If so that can make you sick as well. If you have been ill for weeks please see your doctor to at least find out what it may be causing your illness. It can be dangerous, even deadly in some cases, to self medicate without knowing exactly what the illness is!
I feel that I needed to comment because the flu shot is positive overall. I am also posting to give the CDC link so people can educate themselves on this vaccine. I am highly encouraged by my hospital to get the shot each year to help prevent the spread of the virus. I am all for holistic approaches, but if I can help prevent my co-workers and people in the hospital from getting the flu then so be it.
Information from the CDC about the flu shot.
