WeekEND Wrap

Saturday, 18 October 2008, 7:49

Welcome to the weekend everyone. Another whirl-wind week of ups and downs in the market, a presidential debate and “Joe the Plumber“.

Thought I’d through up a new picture of Roscoe for you all to enjoy.  I have a great one of him laying on his back in his crate sleeping, but the date function on the camera took up too much of the picture to post.  So here’s one I took of him laying on the floor in the bathroom.

I started out the week by trying Firefox.  Folks – I’m not impressed at all.  I can’t download stuff like I can with IE.  Instead of being able to having a box come up and giving me the option to run the file or save it, I can only save it.  An extra step I don’t need.  I read a lot of RSS feeds through Google Reader and I can’t play You Tube videos embedded in posts, but have to load the blog post to play it.  Another wasted step.  Pssst Firefox, I use Google Reader to keep from having to go to a lot of websites.  Let’s just say that all I’ve told it to do, and want it to do, it doesn’t.   I’ll probably keep it hanging around for a while, but I’m back to IE for the majority of my browsing.

Tuesday afternoon my flu shot kicked in and I got (drum roll) sick.  Only took a week to knock me into my bed.  I felt fine after resting up on Wednesday, but just a reminder of why I hate taking them.

Work has been a whirl-wind also.  Lots of work (Yeah!)  We are all a bit worried about the $250,000 start of B. Hussein Obama’s taxes on Small Business, because even for our size, the company I work for fits into the small business model.  One of our industry magazines posts a graphific breakdown of how BHO’s tax will effect individuals and business’.  SCARY!   Hide your money folks – this man wants to “spread the wealth”.  You work, the lazy get your rewards.

So how was your week?  Let me know!  I comments.

Links and stories I found interesting:

Hawaii ends universal child health care program just months after adopting it: Hawaii, the only U.S. state to offer universal child health care, is dropping the program just seven months after launching it.

Gov. Linda Lingle’s administration cites budget shortfalls and other health care options for eliminating the program. A state official complained that the program was aimed at helping low-income people and immigrants, but that better-off families were dropping private coverage so their children would be eligible for the subsidized plan.

And if you don’t think this won’t happen after BHO nationalizes health care, you’re on crack.

  • The Tar and Feathering of Sarah Palin from RIGHTWINGSPARKLE
  • I am Joe the Plumber: Just what does “spreading the wealth” mean? This post breaks it down and what a BHO really wants to do with this country.
  • Kids are still doing this?  Mind blowing.
  • Ready for 24?  You know you are.  Get some juicy tid-bits of the up-coming two hour movie here.

Have a great weekend everyone!
