Presidential Economic Legacies

The libs are going to try and tell you that Bush 43′s economic legacy is in the tank, like his favorability rating (like Congress’ is any better), but actually .. his economic legacy is not bad actually. In one way (growth rate) he even beat out his dad and Clinton!

But since Obama seems to be following the Carter path on economics, so I went digging for some historical information.    I’m sure a lot of you people already know this, but I was only guessing.  {And if I’m going to be nailing Obama as Carter II, I better have my ducks in a row.}

Economic Growth Rate for Carter: 2.5%
Economic Growth Rate for Bush 43: 3.3%

Unemployment Rate for Carter: 7.6%
Unemployment Rate for Bush 43: 4.6%

Inflation Rate (CPI) for Carter: 8.9%
Inflation Rate (CPI) for Bush 43: 2.5%

Change in Misery Index for Carter: +2.7%
Change in Misery Index for Bush 43: +1.1%
*Misery index is the unemployment rate plus the rate of inflation.

Now … Obama is spouting off the socialist mantra of cradle to grave, redistribution of wealth that Carter did.

Do you really want to go back to the Carter era?
