WeekEND Wrap
“Sure he was great, but don’t forget Ginger Rogers did everything he did backwards . . . and in high heels!” — Bob Thaves 1982
Being 5’3″ I have wore heels the majority of my adult life. I have reverted to Birkenstocks for the most part as I’ve gotten older, but Gov. Sarah Palin has inspired me to get back into them. Look up — she wore these at her 90 minute debate. Ninety minutes on her feet fighting Biden’s lies.
This women has some tough tootsie - or she’s gellin’!! My Hero in Heels!
So the SGM(R) is back from his 30 days work related trip to Fort Bragg and nope, I did not tell him about the Sony 46Wide LCD HDTV I’d bought us two weeks ago. It was a surprise. The agreement was, the old TV we bought 4 years ago (in which the HD died on us not shortly afterward), had to go and we could get an LCD TV for the living room. The sucker was 100#’s + and there was no way I was keeping it around the house. I found a local (support your local small business’ folks!) television store who advertised they would take in trade your old TV for new. I went in on a lunch hour and looked around. I fell in love with the one I bought and they rang me up and scheduled delivery for the next day. I got what I believe is a great deal and from the store to the house is about 15 miles. They only charged me $60 for delivery and set up and did not leave until I knew how the new TV worked and all my attachments were working correctly with the new TV.
Can you be in love with an inanimate object? I forgot how wonderful stuff looks in HD!!
Well – I knew hubby was going to get home before me yesterday but I never heard a word out of him when I figured he was back in the house – and I didn’t want to call him!!! I drove home at normal time and when I got in the door, I could hear that the TV was on. He loves it too. He said he walked in the house heading to the bathroom first and stopped dead in his track for 5 minutes just staring at it. LOL I am not sure if he reads the blog or not when he’s away, so to keep the secret I couldn’t say a word here – just on twitter and IM!!!
Onto other things – Eric over @ EricsLog informed me via Twitter that O.J. Simpson has been found guilty.
Couldn’t have happened to a nicer fellow. Gives me hope that the ass wipes who damn near brought this country to its financial knees will get theirs one day. But NOT if Nancy “Botox” Pelosi is in charge of the investigation (scroll down to the 3rd quote).
We bought the SGM’s mom a new computer for her birthday, which reminded me that she could be much smarter at dealing with computers and the Internet. I sent her a link to my net buddy’s website, StarterTech and told her to start reading. See below:
StarterTech.com- StarterTech.com was created with the idea of putting technology, both online and off, in to the simplest terms possible so that anyone can understand it. It can be frustrating to not only find where to go to ask a question, but then actually get an answer can be even worse.
I checked out the new Sci-Fi show “Sanctuary” last night. I was impressed, but then I love Sci-Fi and Fantasy and this show mixes both. Let’s see how it fleshes out in the next few weeks, but with Stargate: Atlantis in its last season, the Sci-Fi Channel needs a new flagship show. Otherwise, they are nothing more than the wrestling network. Blah.
Today I’m off to the beauty shop for a nail appointment and getting the SGM settled back in at home. Thank You God for watching over him during his latest travels and keeping him safe. We have a 50% full DVR of shows to sit down and watch on our new TV!!
You all have a great weekend!! See you Monday.

Thanks for the link to StarterTech, Jo
One fatal flaw in our plans for that website: Getting the people who need it the most to find it! We’re getting there though!
