Hurting at the Pump

Tuesday, 13 May 2008, 5:00

So how are you doing in this up and down world of gas pries controlled by oil barons in Saudi (remember the home of the 9/11 terrorist)?

My driving habits have changed that’s for sure – and even though I can get 19 to 22 miles a gallon in my VUE, I stop and think before running off to the corner store for a candy bar. Even my weekend tanning trips will include the local grocery store for supper items.

I know that John McCain and Mrs. Bill Clinton are suggesting a federal gas tax holiday, but lets not even bother.   The gas companies are going to just jack up some other fee on the stations, that they will have to pass along to the consumer, and then when the end of the summer arrives, the prices will spike again.  And do you really believe that once the gas companies have started getting extra they are going to go on a profit diet?  Nah – don’t think so.

So what are you doing to make it through this mess?

Note: I personally believe once the elections are over … prices will drop.
