Olympics?

Should we boycott them?

While the Useless Nation is trying to decide what to do, on paper, with N. Korea, the rest of the world watches.

Should we boycott the Olympics in China unless they get together with us and take action against the little dictator?

What kind of statement could be made?

We made one in 1980 when we boycotted the summer Olympics held in Moscow to protest the invasion of Afghanistan.  (Look how that turned out!)

I can’t begin to understand what goes on behind closed doors in Washington, or other powers making decisions for the rest of us …

… but, if China can’t stand up and be more a part of this World, then I say lets stay home.

One Comment for “Olympics?”

That’s a tough one. The boycott in 1980 caused so many athletes to lose their only chance to compete. Some of them had trained for years just for that opportunity. It’s hard to punish them for wanting to represent the US with pride just because the Olympic Committee chose to let China host this time.

I guess it’s one of those “wait and see” decisions…
