Kabul Bombing

Friday, 8 September 2006, 18:33

I read this here first thing this morning.  Everything was right in my world, but I did fire off an e-mail to the SGM to please call me.  I knew he wasn’t in Kabul, but still has troops back there.  He called about 20 minutes later.  Unfortunately he knew one of the kids killed (Navy) and the bomber didn’t make it.

A suicide car bombing in Kabul has killed at least 16 people, as Nato military chiefs were set to discuss a plea for more troops for Afghanistan.

The attack on a US military convoy occurred near the American embassy, killing two US soldiers and injuring two others, the US military said.

I didn’t know your hubby was in Afghanistan. Blessings on you and your family. Please THANK him for his service to our country. I am grateful!

Yup Amy, been there since January. We are on the downward slide of this last deployment. Please keep him and all his guys in your prayers (which I’m sure you already do).

I just found this web site while I was looking for more information about the car bombing. My sister-in-law Merideth is one of he two GIs that was killed. I am trying to make sense of all of this…is this possible?

I am so sorry for your loss. I didn’t know there was a female soldier lost; hubby wouldn’t tell me. She’s with God and I am now asking God to send his love and comfort to you and your family.

It makes your heart stop a second doesn’t it. I thought I was more prepared than I apparently was. My son is currently in Kuwait and still my heart stops everytime I hear of anything like that. Cause I really don’t know exactly where he is.

The two Army guys that were killed last week were in the platoon my son had prior to going to Iraq. Another Lt. took over the platoon right before they deployed.
