All I want for my summer wardrobe is a white pair of dress pants.  No capris, no peddle pushers; just a nice pair of summer weight, white dress pants.  White goes with everything and anything you wear with it during the summer.

To that end I went to Chadwicks and ordered a pair.  Well dummy me didn’t read the whole description:

Slimming pants in an innovative fabric that stretches with you for a flawless fit. Front and back darts;hidden side zip. Polyester/rayon/spandex (Ivory is fully lined). Machine wash. Imported.

Oops! That should have been my first clue.  Second was the “Polyester/rayon/spandex” part.  Needless to say, they came and went back.  So instead of re-ordering another pair from Chadwicks, I hit my two favorite local stores.

Not - One - Pair - Of - Summer - White - Pants/Slacks could be found.  What the hell gives?  It looked like they actually were putting out the WINTER clothes already.  Hello store owners, wake the hell up!  It’s June — it was 100 degrees today, I don’t want to even THINK about winter clothing yet.

Neither store had what I was looking for.  What they did have was like what I accidentally ordered wrong from Chadwicks, or just capris.  Yes I can wear them to work, but I want “dress” slacks too.

So, back to the Chadwicks website and this time I’m going to READ the damn description first.  I just don’t get stores anymore.  Right next to the swim suit sections I find not summer clothing that can be worn to work, but WINTER clothing.

I did end up making a couple purchase — excuse me, I went clothes shopping, just because I didn’t find what I was looking for doesn’t mean I’m not going to pass up something when I find it.  I finally got a khaki skirt - but actually, got a great deal in that they are skorts.  A cute long sleeve summer t-shirt that can be worn to the movies where it’s always too cold and a great pair of fancy flip flops!

But where are all the white dress slacks?  Geez

  1. They had some at Dress Barn. My wife and I saw them when shopping for sun-dresses… which they did not have.

  2. GF used to wear white pants, but that was before me. Now she finds that patterns tend to conceal the grime that I shed like PigPen in Charlie Brown. Especially the hand prints
