The 2-Hour Season Finale is on Monday, May 22nd 8/7c

Miles didn’t make a very good, or hasty, exit after he erased the taped evidence now did he?  He’s not really that good at the “bad” guy stuff, he just wants to. 

As CTU prepares for the conference call with the Attorney General, the tape is determined to be blank – erased as Chloe said.  As tempers soar, she tells them Miles came in the room to give her an update from Karen.  Karen didn’t send Miles!!   Jack heads out to find Miles with Karen trying to stop him — Jack’s hands and Miles’ neck — you get the picture.  Miles sneers at both of them and informs them he’s been transfered to the “Whitehouse”.   

Logan calls Karen wanting to know why the conference call with the Attorney General.  She tells him it was in error.  He informs her he’s dropping the warrant against Jack, which further solidifies Karen’s belief in Jack over Logan.   Jack knows his goose is cooked – Logan knows the evidence has been destroyed and has nothing to worry about; and Graham’s goons can go after Jack now. 

Oh great, now word comes that Bierko has escaped.  The transport team was ambushed and only one person made it through.   That agent informs CTU that Bierko mentioned a canister of nerve gas and getting his revenge. 

At the presidential retreat, for some reason Martha still has Aaron’s cellphone.  Why didn’t Logan take that from her?  Either way, she gives it to another agent and asks him to get it to Agent Pierce.  Ah, Martha — he’s down the hall with a bloody lip.  We see Logan “pause” for effect at a doorway as he looks in on Aaron tied up with blood on his face.  Logan tells him that all can be forgotten now that the taped evidence is gone.  Agent Pierce looks directly in Logan’s eyes and calls him a traiter to his country, “Charles”.  Oops, lost the Mr. President didn’t he???  One of Logan’s loyal secret service goon tells Logan that Aaron is loyal to Palmer … Logan just looks at him and walks away. 

Logan calls Graham and tells him that his house is in order, ie: Martha and Aaron, and that Jack is in the wind now the evidence has been erased.  As he’s walking through the retreat, he comes upon Mike Novick who informs the president that Bierko has escaped and is planning another attack.  Logan yells at him about having HLS take over CTU so something like this wouldn’t happen.  Mike tells him CTU is on it.

Chloe is trying to track vehicles in the area of Bierko’s escape via satellite.  Karen and Bill discuss trying to get something from Henderson by giving him a deal, but Jack is not happy about this.  Bill talks to Jack and he finally agrees, but only if he does the talking with Henderson.

Henderson is pompus as usual, but Jack hits a nerve with the patriot bit and his love for the country.  Do you want to see more innocents die?  Henderson agrees to help, if Jack helps him disappear with his wife, “But I’ll do it better than you did.” Jack agrees only if he can go with him.  Chole traces a call made by someone close to the ambush and Curtis’ team, Jack and Henderson head to the area.

Martha is out in the stables and see a Secret Service Agent take Aaron out to a car by gun point.  She steps in and the agent points his gun at her.  She asks him if he will shoot the First Lady.  While Martha has the agent distracted, Aaron fights back and a struggle ensues.  A gunshot and the agent goes down — Martha’s at the other end of the gun.  Clearly shocked she just shot someone, she tells Aaron she knows what Logan has done and that she was going to protect him.  She looks ill for having wanted to do that.  Aaron says he has to get back into the retreat, but Martha needs to find Mike and tell him everything.

Curtis, Jack, the team and Henderson arrive at Malina’s house.  Henderson goes in first with the team set up on go.  Jack climbs to the roof and plants a listening device on a skylight.  Henderson appears to be turning on Jack by telling Malina to delete his harddrive.  Jack sends in Curtis and Malina is shot.  Henderson tells Jack he didn’t betray him, because he would have had to bring down his firewalls to delete the information and that would have made access much easier.  Ah, but we have Ms. Chloe remember?  She starts working on the computer via remote and a medical chopper is sent for Curtis, who was grazed in the gun battle. 

Chloe finds documents on the computer about a submarine from Russia in an American port. Of course it’s close by.  Audrey contacts the ranking officer on the sub.   Jack tells him that the sub is going to be attacked by terrorists to take the missles.  He takes Henderson with him because he evidently knows much about Russian missle systems. The captain locks down the sub and startes searching the ship.  He is shot by Bierko, who then takes control of the sub’s missle system.  They release the sentox gas and the crew is overcome.
