The Answer is: Because of the Money …

by Jo | April 17th, 2006

And the question is:

If Rumsfeld’s so bad, why didn’t generals resign? by Thomas Lipscomb in the Chicago Sun-times today.

Don’t think for one minute these people would resign out of principle, it would probably effect their pocketbook in the end.  And resigning a commission without retiring can be costly in the living expenses department.

They are simply going to bitch and moan like red-headed step-children because they weren’t listened too, or believe they weren’t listened to.  I mean Rummy is nothing more than (gasp) a civilian, who does he think he is to NOT listen to them?

Grow up — you didn’t make General status by acting like, and remaining, a second lieutenant.

Throw them out with the garbage folks, these are disgruntled ex-employees who wouldn’t stand up for a principle if it held them at gun point; not when it would have effected their retirement — or wives shopping sprees.

  1. Oh, but there are SIX of them! And they agree with the MSM! We must listen to them, and nobody had better try to defend Rummy or we’ll tear them apart!!

    Geez….

  2. I can’t stand Rummy. That said, the Dems are DAFT to think for one second that the President would fire him, then replace him with a Liberal. “Be careful what you wish for” is the first thing to come to mind here. The Dems should reconsider. We’ve only got a few more years of this guy left; he can’t screw it up much more than he already has. Just my 2 pennies ;-)
