Otto Monday Madness
Monday Madness is presented by Otto here.
Okay — I want my friend Julie to answer these especially
— — —
Do you like to shop?
IF YES, answer the following:
1. What is your favorite store? Why?
Depends on “what” I’m shopping for. Clothes: Goody’s, Steinmart, QVC, JC Penny. There are special stores for shoes, homewares, etc. Home Depot tops the list for stuff around the yard and such. (Besides the fact they are HUGE on the support the troops department)
2. Do you only shop when there is something you specifically need or want or do you sometimes go shopping just for “something to do?”
No, I shop whenever I can. But see, I don’t always “buy” when I shop. Lots of times I “browse shop” and find places and things for people who may have a birthday or baby coming soon.
3. Do you prefer shopping online or in stores?
Both.
4. Do you have a shopping buddy or are you perfectly content going alone?
Nope. Wish I did though.
IF NO, answer the following:
1. Even though you don’t like to shop, where do you find yourself shopping most often?
2. Do you try to send someone else to shop for you? if so, who and why that person?
3. do you think shopping online is as annoying as shopping in stores?
4. Does anyone close to you encourage to go shopping with her (or him)? if so, do you feel tortured and go or just say no?

Jo, now now, you know better!! I hate hate hate shopping. Have alway hated it, ever since I was a little kid and my mom would drag me to the mall for school clothes. It makes no sense to me either because I do love nice clothes, but absolutely hate shopping for them.
I certainly don’t mind shopping for things for our house, but when it comes to shopping for other people or myself, somehow, my brain goes into deep freeze mode and I wander aimlessly hour after hour and end up coming home empty-handed.
I love online shopping, but don’t do clothes online.
My sis used to be a shopaholic and would drag me with her constantly. I hated it and could never keep up with her. I would rather shop alone.
My hub loves Home Depot and Lowes and is always asking me to go along. I try to get out of it most times, but he does get his way if we are doing a neat project around the house. He also does the grocery shopping because he thinks I spend too much in the grocery store and don’t pay close enough attention to prices. Great strategy for getting out of that chore too!!!!! (hehe). I do wish I enjoyed it more. My kids call it “retail therapy”, but I find that the act of shopping makes me feel like I need therapy.

IF NO, answer the following:
1. Even though you don’t like to shop, where do you find yourself shopping most often?
I usually keep to a small group of stores. I try to go to stores that have a wide range of things so I don’t have to go to multiple stores (ie a store like Target that has a drugstore, some groceries, etc).
2. Do you try to send someone else to shop for you? if so, who and why that person?
Every once in awhile I send DH out to get something, but most of the time I’d rather just do it myself — that way I am in control
3. do you think shopping online is as annoying as shopping in stores?
No, I prefer shopping online most of the time.
4. Does anyone close to you encourage to go shopping with her (or him)? if so, do you feel tortured and go or just say no?
Shopping with someone else is really the only time I enjoy it. My sister and I shop together when she is in town.
