There Are No Words

While eating dinner tonight MJ and I were listening to the Sean Hannity show. While savoring her delicious Maple and Spicy Mustard glazed ham we listened as Sean took a call.

In the fall of 1979, I was returning home (to Savannah) from Jacksonville, FL. Along the way, I had mechanical problems and was forced to lodge overnight in a town called Darien, at the Fort King George Motel.

The motel was one of those ancient relics from the 1950s... but it was the ONLY option and still, a place to sleep while my truck was being repaired.

About 7am the next day, there was a huge ruckus outside with people running all over and police cars, etc.

Somehow, someway, a 6 ft. alligator had crawled into the backseat of a car of someone else staying at the motel and when they had begun packing to leave, they saw it and all hell broke loose!

It made both local and national news… a fish & wildlife team was choppered in to extract the stowaway reptile and when I FINALLY got home that evening, I got to see it all again on the evening news, lol!

They say that gators and such can live to be very old… so I wouldn’t doubt that this one is still looking for a cheap ride…
