Dems Have No Backbone

Day by Day

The above made me almost destroy my monitor with coffee. So I jumped on the net to find out who this Rahm Emanuel was. The first link of course was his website. Okay that helps, but what about this statement he made about “no plan”. Going to have to keep digging.

Then I found it.

From a November 18th story in the Washington Post about John Murtha’s rant reference pulling the troops out of Iraq, I find this little paragraph:

Murtha’s Democratic colleagues reacted warily to his remarks, while Republicans pounced. Rep. Rahm Emanuel (Ill.), head of the House Democrats’ campaign effort, said, “Jack Murtha went out and spoke for Jack Murtha.” As for Iraq policy, Emanuel added: “At the right time, we will have a position.”

BLINK
BLINK

When is the right time Mr. Emanuel?

Okay, let me see if I can find something else.

I came across an article written by Bobby Eberle, whose name I recognize from GOPUSA.com. The article is titled “Dems: We Don’t Have an Iraq Plan, But That’s OK“. Ah, so now maybe this stuff is starting to make sense. See – I have known all along the dems libs didn’t have a plan except to stay in Washington in tax-payer paid for jobs and live the good life. Oh yeah, there are some Republicans in that category that need to be nudged out into the real world too, but I digress.

Mr. Eberle notes in his column:

In comments made to the Washington Post, Pelosi told reporters and editors that Democrats “should not seek a unified position on an exit strategy in Iraq, calling the war a matter of individual conscience and saying differing positions within the caucus are a source of strength for the party.”

Pelosi said Democrats will produce an issue agenda for the 2006 elections but it will not include a position on Iraq. There is consensus within the party that President Bush has mismanaged the war and that a new course is needed, but House Democrats should be free to take individual positions, she said.

Why not be unified?

Is it because not all in the party agree with agree with a “pull out cut and run” position, so when asked for your position, you don’t have one because YOU Ms. Pelosi and Mr. Emanuel don’t have enough backbone to stand up for anything without being hand-held and lead around by the nose by your party? No, I don’t agree with what John Murtha said, but he stood up and said what he feels. I have watched his speech to cut and run several times. This man was feeling what he was saying. He believes what he said is the truth. The man had back bone enough to stand up and do what a lot of people in the democratic liberal left party won’t: Take a Stand for Something.

I have to respect the man for that.

We may not like what John Murtha said, or even agree with him, but you have to at least admit the man has back bone; unlike the rest of his party.
