I was recently diagnosed with gestational diabetes, and it's been a huge emotional rollercoaster, not to mention a blood sugar rollercoaster also. Because of some erroneous info my diabetes counselor had given my doctor, they started me on the highest possible dose of meds, so I went from diabetic to hypoglycemic inside of a week. They didn't even give me time to see if I could control it with dietary changes. Thankfully I'm not on insulin (yet?) but it's nice to know I'm not the only one out there fighting the good fight with ouchy fingers, trying desperately to appease the Blood Sugar Gods.
