Panthers — NFL Week 11

by Trelaina | November 20th, 2005

The Carolina Panthers are 7-2 after a 30-3 win over the NY Jets last week. They are now leading the NFC South (thanks to an Atlanta loss) and tied for 2nd in the entire NFL.

Today, the Panthers meet the Chicago Bears. From what I can see, it looks like it’s going to be a tough game….and for the Panthers, that means anything can happen.

Check out the pre-game stats on Sportsline.com.

I’m likely to be watching the game with my dad, a die-hard Giants fan who thinks the Panthers are the “luckiest G**damn team in the NFL”. Disadvantage: I have to listen to those sorts of complaints. Advantages: Watching football with someone who knows more about it (so I don’t sit wondering “why the heck did THAT happen??) …and….I get to cuss and yell at the TV without hubby complaining about it

UPDATE: Well, thanks a lot, guys. I swear, I think the Carolina Panthers do this on purpose. Have just enough good, solid wins to build up the fans’ confidence, then blow it big time. Nothing like watching a game in total humiliation.
So much for any thoughts of this being a Super Bowl team. If they can’t even play an even matchup and hold their own, how could they ever win against the Giants, or heaven forbid, the Colts?

  1. You can come watch football here anytime — yet we do not watch Pro — The CSM had a running cell-phone messaging sessions with an Alabama fan yesterday after Auburn stomped them to the ground between the hedges.

  2. LOL — let’s just hope I can have as much fun today!
