Survivor: Guatemala 11/03/05

Of course, they recapped last weeks show.

Night 18 - NAKUM sleeps unaware that there are strangers fixing to turn their lives up-side-down. The YAXHA tribe talked about going into NAKUM united — United?? When the hell did that word jump into your vocabulary?! Geez. They were split down tribal lines at their camp but now all of a sudden the tribal lines have shifted like a John Kerry statement.

Bobby Jon is doing the camera statement about how Stephanie and Jamie want to make him vomit. Now I can see the problems he’s having with Jamie, but Stephanie? Maybe I missed it on the last Survivor, but so far I don’t see where she’s done anything to provoke anyone, especially him.

They all gather after NAKUM wakes and is told about the merge. They pass out the new buffs and someone comments about how they don’t “stink”.

Day 19 and we find Bobby Jon and Brandon building the morning fire. Brandon does a camera statement about how they are not one big happy family, doesn’t work that way.

Danni does a camera statement how about not feeling part of the tribe but slaves to the NAKUM members.

Tree mail: They get a new flag and paints and are told to created a new tribe name.

But wait — there is more to this mail than meets the eye. Seems Jeffy and his bunch of hidden in the jungle a small, 6″, immunity idol. Whoever has this idol can use it at any time before the vote at TC up to the final 4. Eyes and brains are engaging. They all start hunting for the idol. Brandon talks about feeling he has a target on his back and he needs it.

And here we find Bobby Jon and Stephanie talking like chums (where’s the vomit Bobby Jon?). He states he wants to go to the jury, Stephanie wants to go to, but won’t commit - either Bobby Jon or Brandon goes and then they hug. (Still no vomit Bobby Jon!)

Day 20 - Lydia brings up the naming of the tribe finally. They came up with a combination of both tribes XHAKUM. They all paint their names on the flag.

More people hunt for the small idol. Bobby Jon says he’s going to take an hour a day to look for it. Judd says he’s going to stop looking for it because he’s exhausted. Has anyone noticed he doesn’t appear to have lost too much weight yet? Rafe talks about how he’s bad at trying to find stuff and while he is hunting, he puts his hand in a hornets nest and gets chased away. He says the Mayan gods have giving him a sign to stop trying to find the idol.

Gary is seeing making some fishing flies and Steph talks about needing food. Danni talks about how the NAKUM tribe is so negative. The old YAXHA members decide to go fishing to have something to do. There is much discussion on both sides while they are alone. The NAKUM members talk about whoever brings in the biggest fish “is going home tonight”. But yet, they are sitting on their asses sucking the last bits of honey out of some bottle and not trying to get some food, which Steph was bitching about not having — and complaining about their new tribe members going of to fish for food?

YAXHA members go back to their old camp and chill out at the pool.

Tree mail: Balance a pot on your head. They are given pots to practice with.

As the tribe members move into the area for the immunity challenge, their eyes fall on a huge ass table full of food. Jeff talks about how tradition has involved food to celebrate the merge, but there is a twist.

The challenge is to stand on a small cube balancing the pot on your head — but wait, here is the twist. If you feel that you are safe from elimination at TC, you can choose to skip the challenge and eat. But if you choose to do the challenge, no food.

Rafe, Steph, Lydia and Jamie choose food and the rest start the challenge.

The next few minutes were painful to watch. Bobby Jon and Jamie had a “I’ve got the bigger dick” mouthing off contest. These two need to go out behind a pyramid somewhere and beat it out of each other. Two immature children trying to be king of the hill. The whole snippy childish talk between Bobby Jon and Jamie upsets Rafe. He’s feeling bad about the divisions in the tribe. Steph tells him not to worry about it and ignore it.

Cindy looses her pot and is knocked out. The rest remain for the whole hour so now we go into a tie breaker. Jeff moves them to the base of a pyramid and they have to balance their pot while moving up the pyramid. First to the top, or the first to get the farthest with their pot in tact, wins.

Gary wins immunity.

Day 21 All the men are mouthing off about the challenge, except Brandon and Rafe. After awhile, everyone is talking about how Jamie has a big mouth and is shooting it off all the time. Bobby Jon talks about how Jamie has pissed the whole tribe off. And here we go again with these two getting in a “I can piss farther than you” contest. I just looked at the CSM and asked, “WTF?” He just shrugged. Has to be a guy thing. Bobby Jon talks to Brandon about voting Jamie off. Brandon decides he needs to go look for the idol — he still doesn’t feel safe. Gary and Rafe talk about voting Jamie off.

Tribal Council

Bobby Jon and Jamie go at it again and the rest of the tribe looks really uncomfortable. Steph and/or Cindy finally tell them to shut up — but that doesn’t stop them. Jeff even looks a bit embarrassed.

Gary tells Jeff you need to vote from your heart, because by day 21 your mind plays tricks on you.

Jeff asks if anyone has the immunity idol and no one answers.

The Vote

Brandon, Brandon, Jamie, Jamie, Brandon, Jame TIE
Brandon, Jame TIE
Brandon, Brandon

Brandon is vote out.

Now the jury will be started after the next Tribal Council.

9 remain, who will be voted out next?
