They have been told Blacks can not do for themselves, only government can look out for them. He cries for someone else to give him buses, not realizing that he had hundreds just sitting there. And when he realizes that he has failed in his responsibility to New Orleans, he starts blaming others. Like a baby, he only knows how to want and demand, not how to solve problems. It's perhaps not fair to be too critical of any government official or agency in the face of such a disaster, but it does seem that Nagin wasn't quite on the ball here. Hopefully, he and the other state and local officials all through the hurricane-prone Gulf and southern Atlantic areas will learn a HUGE lesson from all this and be much better prepared next time. That appears to be poor LOCAL planning. Nagin needs to be called on it and do some 'splainin' himself vs. cursing and blaming others.
