Promotion Part 2
Look what happened to my car after hubby’s promotion.
Yup — this had to be added to my Fort Benning sticker cluster on my windshield. I asked “why”, and it’s because if hubby drives my car one day to work. He has one on his Jeep too.
Do I feel important? Nope — it’s his rank, not mine. Ah, the military life.

I always laughed when they did stuff like that. When my father was promoted to COL we had to add his rank to the stickers, even on my car which he never drove since it was registered in his name (at that time).
My mother would tell me stories of going to OCWC meetings, of course this was in the late 60′s and early 70′s, where the women would actually wear their husbands rank and then of course act like it was theirs. Boggles the mind…

Congrats again on the promotion!
My hubby is currently attempting to locate the forms to get Purple Heart plates for both of our cars. He rarely drives mine but wants me to have the plate anyway, I’m a little awkward with it because it is his award not mine – but I’m telling myself I would be driving with it out of pride for him, knowing full well I did nothing to deserve that award.
