Promotion

by Jo | August 3rd, 2005

Told you yesterday I’d have something to blog about. Of course I had to wait until I got home.

4:00 AM - Too danged early to get up, trust me on this.

5:00 AM - Leave for Post. Does he really drive in the dark like this “every” morning?

6:00 AM - Start the ceremony (By the way - the sun has “yet” to show himself outside and normally I’d still be asleep)

During the ceremony, other people were promoted as well as given awards. Then it was hubby’s turn. The Colonel motioned me up on stage and called my husband out. The Colonel spoke a few words, some really nice things about my hubby.

Then came the attention to orders.

The gal reading the orders started the first line and … everyone in the auditorium stood up. I was moved to tears that they would do this for my husband.

The Colonel and I managed to get his new rank on without dropping one “damn-it” and I held the tears until I got in the car later.

Everyone clapped and then my hubby sent them all out for their morning run. He had to take me to breakfast, since I got out of bed so early for him — that’s what he told them anyway.

It was a long day, but worth it. I’m so proud of him!

  1. Woohoo! Another hooray for the CSM!

  2. It is a great honor to be promoted to such a high “office” (so to speak) in the US Military. Your husband roughly carries the same rank as a low-ranking General, or a high-ranking Colonel; not technically, but as far as the degree of weight his thoughts, ideas, and authority carry. Believe me, no low-ranking officer in his, or her right mind would step over the line and pi$$ him off. You are obviously proud of him and you should be. What he has attained in his Military career is more than honorable; it is simply amazing.

Congrats to him and you, for there is NO WAY AT ALL that he would have made this pay grade without having an amazing, supportive, and pro-Military wife. My hat’s off to both of you for your sacrifices to this country.

    Blog ON.

  3. Congratulations!
