My Job
I had someone the other day e-mail me and note that throughout my blog I hardly talk about my job. Well, there are a few good reasons for that, the main one being that several people “at” my job know about this blog. Therefore, to get on here and complain and rant about people I work with would be STUPID!
But actually, the best reason for not talking about my job is that — I like it!
I have worked in some really bad places and had some jobs at evil corporations that I wish I could erase from my resume. This one isn’t one of them.
I have worked for the: U.S. Army, two police departments, a probation department and various sundry other places that remain nameless.
I enjoy getting out of bed and going to work every morning. The office is amazing, the people are wonderful and the work is interesting. I have really nothing to complain about when it comes to my job.
So you won’t see me dissing my job, or the people I work with here. I like it. I like them.

I agree with you Jo. Bringing your occupation into your blog when you tackle issues that could be divisive isn’t responsible to yourself, your family, your fellow employees, or your employer.
Keeping the two live separate is important in order to no offend those who you work with.
On the same note, talking and promoting your blog in the work place is inappropriate also. However, casual conversation sparked by a co-worker over the lunch table is totally American.
Don’t let others goat you into blending your professional life and your private life. It is too dangerous.
